Start menu problem

My start menu is now vertical on my desktop. The green start button is now in the upper left hand corner of my screen instead on the botton left hand corner. I've tried dragging it and the actual green button doesn't move. Does anyne know how to fix this?

Re: start menu problem

You should be able to drag your start menu around. Try right clicking on it and there should be a pop up menu, one of the choices should be lock task bar uncheck it then you should be able to move the bar back to your liking.

Reset computer typing to english

In Windows XP, to reset all language settings to English (I know this is hard, especially if you don't know the language it got set to!):
1. Click the Start button which is the green button in the left hand corner of the screen (your mouse can't go any farther).
2. In the Start menu, click the Control panel which looks like a tablet with a pencil and check mark. Here's a picture of the Start button (lower left) and start menu, including the icon you want to find marked clearly.
3. Click the Language and Regional option, which is a calendar and an image of the Earth.
4. Under the 2nd header (Control Panel icon) click Regional and Language options, which is a globe.
5. When it opens, click the dropdown box and look for English, then click OK (the first button in the set of buttons)

I can't get to SCREEN RESOLUTION update to click on PROPERTIES for the new settings as per instruction. n structed

Typically, you can find the resolution setting by right-clicking on the desktop-->Properties. Look under the "Settings" tab. (Located in the upper right-hand corner of the "Properties" dialog box.)

A "Screen Resolution" slider bar is located in the middle of the dialog box towards the left.

This is just typical settings but the process may differ a little if your video card has its own set of settings to configure.

I want to past google map onto a document but I am unable to copy and past it. Ideas please?!

Google Maps are images that are not able to be copied and pasted by operating systems.

Mac: Hit control + shift + 4. select the region of the map you wish to capture. This will save this as an image to your desktop. This image can be inserted into a document.

Windows Vista/7. Open Snipping Tool. Select the region of the screen you wish to copy, then select copy from the menu and you will be able to paste it.

My laptop logiq w76k keeps going blank and keeps going onto a screen with says start windows normally

Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you switch On.

Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->System Restore

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next
Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the last month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

After reboot your problem should be resolved.

When we turn our dell computer on, the Dell logo comes on, then the monitor goes black with cursor blinking in the upper left hand corner.

Start the computer hand hold down F8. Then you have a menu where you can chose to start windows in safe mode. If you can get in, check your log files to see what the problem is.

It turns on. And a black screen pops up with a line at the upper left hand corner

You need to reset or re-instal your BIOS. Your BIOS has become corrupt and cant begin to load your Operating System so it just hangs.

MultiScreen, start menu to all?

Right click the desktop, go to display properties. Clear the box which says "Extend my Desktop to this monitor" for the second monitor.

If your video card has it's own device manager (in the lower right hand corner of the task bar), you would find a similar setting.
