E-02 is an ink cartridge error, possible causes incude faulty ink cartridge chip, incorrectly installed cartridge, dirty contacts, ribbon cable not fitted correctly to carriage or faulty CSIC board in the carriage.
Your first step would be to remove all of the cartridges and clean the contacts and cartridge chips with contact cleaner or alcohol wipes. Refit cartridges ensuring that they all click into place and check the ribbon cable into the carriage is secure.
Hope this helps, please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

How to remove epsom NX400 print head

The print head on the NX400 printer is integrated into the ink cartridge and therefore when you remove the cartridge you are removing the print head. . . If you want to clean the print heads / nozzles then see the procedure in the NX400 User Guide in the section for Adjust Print Quality. . . .The User Guide can be found at http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Doc&oid=106004&prodoid=63075469

When you print photos, in Preferences you have to set up the quality of the print to either Best or Photo whichever is the highest one in the list. Hopefully this will increase the quality of the printing, although this is not a photo printer. And you are correct, it's a printer problem.

Poor print quality, not fully black with white lines through text/images.

The white lines are caused by some CLOGGED ink-jets that are not spraying the ink onto the paper at the appropriate time.

Start the Epson printer-software, and run a "print-head-cleaning-cycle", to try to UNCLOG those ink-jets.

Epson stylus dx6000 error message e-02 have tried

Hi

Chances are the mechanism to recognize the ink cartridges is already damage and it may cause a lot having it replaced. I suggest to get a new printer instead specially if you have tried reseating the ink cartridges several times and won't work still.

Thanks for using Fixya

I have error code e 90 on my epsom printer

Generally the fix for most "e 90" error messages on Epson printers is to check under the hood of the printer for something that is there and shouldn't be, eg. glue stick, pencil, paper jam, etc. Most e 90 error messages are solved by simply removing something that shouldn't be there. If, in fact, that doesn't fix it, you should try removing the printer catridges and re-setting the printer. If this still does not fix the problem you should try contacting the Epson Customer Service department and try and get a replacement printer, considering this is surely a hardware issue.

The black ink in my Epson dx6000 won't work. I've wasted so much ink cleaning the print head. HELP!!! Please!!

You could try this Try placing sheet of black text on copy board, and run many copies black only. I ran 25x12 times still no black. Run head clean after about each 50 sheets. Persevered and finally BLACK ink OK
Hope it works for you. Worked on my HPc6180

Epsom stylus all in one dx7450

press 'Control' + 'P' on a page (as tho you want to print)
click 'Maintenance'
there you'll find various options to clean heads etc, that should do it. tho it does deplete your inks considerably each attempt. & you'll probably find it needs more than one clean.Good luck!

Print quality problems

First off replace the ink cartridge.
then look into the menus of the printer and perform the head cleaning procedure.
Most of the time what you are describing is simply a cartridge out of ink and not showing empty
