Question about Samsung TXG2548 TV

Samsung TXR3079WHX TV shuts itself off!!!

If anyone could solve this one, I'd be forever grateful! My husband is an IT tech and can't figure it out, so... We have had this television for 2 years. Days after the warranty expires, the TV turns itself off. just *blip* off. my husband realizes that it's probably a built-in feature of the tv that when it gets too hot, it turns off. so he bought a fan at radio shack and that helped, but now the tv will turn itself off after 3 hours instead of 5 minutes. what's going on and is this fixable? Thanks in advance!

My Samsung tv tx-t3092 which is a little over two years old just shut off...blip and it was off...pressing the on button plays a little jingle but does not turn on. After a couple hours of trying periodically it finally turned on and then after just 30 minutes...blip...it turned off again. This has repeated over the last couple of days. Looking for a solution.

This Tv (SAMSUNG HDTV TXR3079WHX) shuts off and dosn't come back on. There is power because the little red light indicates so. There is just no picture that appears. The problem was fixed at the repaire shop, but it happened again after about 6 months. Is this a "for the garbage" case? there is no more warrenty.

In that case you had a major failure in the power source. The tv must be tested by a repairman or someone with electronics experience.

Samsung TV Problems

Mike:

What problem did you have with your Samsung TV? If it has anything to do with your set turning off after 30 minutes or so, then read on.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had the same problem with my Samsung TV Model: TXR3079WHX. I troubleshot my problem with a can of component cooler from Radio Shack and found my problem to be a defective voltage regulator, identified as "QR015" on the main circuit board (the same board that contains the high voltage section).

Caution:

Before I proceed any further I need to strongly warn you. Do not attempt to remove the back cover, troubleshoot, repair or perform the actions that I have done, if you are not a "qualified service technician". Removing the back cover exposes you (and anyone else) to harmful and deadly electric shock, even though the TV may be unplugged from the wall outlet and turned off. You (or anyone else) can be seriously injured or even killed. If you are not qualified, play it safe by allowing others who are qualified repair this for you.

The defective part (overheats and shuts your TV off) is voltage regulator manufactured by Fairchild. The part number is KA75450ZTA. This part is available from Mouser Electronics for less than 20 cents plus shipping. In order to replace this part a qualified technician will need to remove certain cables and unscrew the main board to allow access to desolder and solder the new component.

Hope this helps.

Involuntary Picture Loss

It seems to be a heat issue. I have had this problem for over a year now. If I turn on a fan and have it blow into the body of the set behind the screen [either side] it solves the problem.

This may not be a permanent solution but it will keep your set running and costs nothing more than a small fan.

I had the same problem with my Samsung TV Model: TXR3079WHX. However, I was able to repair my set while it was still intermittant (would turn off by itself after 30 minutes of operating, would have to wait 5 minutes before it would turn on again).
