Older washing machines had a 2 position knob push or pull to set and the other position to run, also if the timer is bad it can be replaced the parts are still available on the Internet.

Hello!

Probably you have foreign stuff in the drain pump or the pump worn out. Unplug the machine and unscrew the pump cap, watch for water pouring out, prepare something to catch in the water, then inspect for coins, knobs, ... . Check if the pump wheel rotates freely. screw back the cap and try to start a new wash program

My GE SpaceSaver Washer/dryer will wash, but when it's time to rinse and spin the machine stops. It will not drain, riinse , or spin.

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

Model ge wlsr2200j5ww washing maching won't drain or spin

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Check this link to replace the inlet valve:

http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

During the spin cycle my fisher and paykel will stop ,with "power failure " in window and then says restarting in 10sec. I thought it had not been spin drying the clothes at times. Now this...

Here we need to suspect the controller board as it seems to trip or hang up.

In this case it seems that the power trips when the program controller loads or encounters a load factor. So check the motor, the capacitor, the free movement of the drive shaft and all the connections to the control panel. finally check the main power outlet for loose connection in the plug / socket.

Hi i have an indesit w 123s washing machine, that set to any program it doesnt move on it just does that setting, then if you turn the machine off and set it to end program you can reset to rinse and the...

hello try restting it before you bin it
  1. Turn the washing machine off with the on off button.
  2. Turn the selector knob to a dot, or any off position
  3. Turn the washing machine back on and watch for rapid flashing on the neon light
  4. Turn the washing machine off and select the new program (or maybe spin)
  5. Turn it back on and the new program should start
NOTE: Resetting the timer selector knob as shown above may stop the clicking round, but if your washing machine has a fault, the clicking round may return when your washing machine encounters the fault again. If your washing machine's program selector knob is clicking round on its own, then read the section above Washing machine stops with lights flashing hope it helps

Washer makes very loud humming noise in spin cycle but does not spin..I removed clothes thinking it was very heavy and it did spin out but when I put clothes back it returned w/no spin and loud noise..now...

Either the control board or the motor has gone bad. Here is the diagnostic mode to run to look for the errors.
The diagnostic test is performed by using the Program Knob. To START THE TEST: • On non-digital display models, turn the Program Knob to start position, Drain/Spin. • On digital display models, turn the Program Knob to start position, Touch Up. • Press Pause/Cancel to turn off LEDs. • Within 5 seconds, press and hold the Option and Pause Cancel buttons until LEDs start sequentially chasing, then release buttons. 1. All the LEDs will sequentially light. Pressing a button below a light cluster will light all the LEDs in that cluster at one time to confirm functionality. 2. Turn the program knob (1) click clockwise from the start position. The hot water solenoid will activate and hot water should enter through the detergent compartment. 3. Turn the program knob (2) clicks from the start position. The bleach water solenoid will activate and cold water should enter through the bleach compartment. 4. Turn the program knob (3) clicks from the start position. The bleach and the wash water solenoids will activate and cold water should enter through the softener compartment. 5. Turn the program knob (4) clicks from the start position. The door lock solenoid will activate. 6. Turn the program knob (5) clicks from the start position. The door lock solenoid will deactivate and the loading door can be opened. 7. Turn the program knob (6) clicks from the start position. The washer will fill and tumble. 8. Turn the program knob (7) clicks from the start position. The washer will fill and spin (leakage test). 9. Turn the program knob (8) clicks from the start position. The drain pump and door lock solenoid will activate and the washer will operate in high spin. SAFETY WARNING: If power is removed during this test, the door can be opened. To prevent injury, DO NOT put your hands inside when the tub is rotating. 10. Turn the program knob (9) clicks from the start position. The control will signal the last error code.
Repost the error codes here.

Washing machine 11 years old is jumping on the wash cycles. EG instead of taking 25 mins its taking 10 mins to complete -clothes coming out wet unless manually turn to spin again

It is possible that the program is not running to the designed settings and so the program seems to skip the cycle.
The clothes come out wet because the spin cycle is not activated in the set program. Hence the program controller needs a check.
