I have the same problem- no messages, no voicemail via my service provider, and the message indicator + red l.e.d light continually flashes. I have emailed Philips but no response from them yet.

I have the same problem - The LED light continues to blink and on the display the message envelope flashes, even though there are no messages, or voicemails on phone or with phone provider. Help it is driving me mad.

No it doesn't. The problem started the moment I installed the phone on a brand new line, with no calls. The call list is empty, I still have the blinking light.

As Philips finally explained it to me, the problem is how the software in the phone reads the phone line. If you subscribe to your telco's voicemail you don't have this problem. If you don't, you probably will. And, since this phone has its own answering machine, why do I want to pay my phone company for something this damned phone is supposed to be able to do.

Simply put, the phone is **** and there is no way around this problem, according to the manufacturer.

This is "missed call" when you have caller ID on the phone line.

Simply scroll through the lists as detailed in solution1.

You don't even have to delete the calls, just viewing the incoming numbers does it on my Philips phones. Great! Thanks

I forgot how to clear the stored voice mails

If you want to delete the actual voice mails, you have to go through your phone company (using their keypad commands) since voice mail is only accessible through your phone (but the voice mail messages are stored through your phone company provider).

Info from the Uniden DECT 6.0 6035 Manual:

Using the Voice Mail Service If you subscribe to a voice mail service, you can use your phone to access your voice mailbox. The new message LED on the handset ?ashes and VM appears in the handset display whenever you have messages waiting in yourvoice mailbox. When you subscribe to the service, your voice mail provider provides you with the access number and the required voice mail signaling tone. You can use your phonebook to store the access number.

Resetting the Voice Message Waiting Indicator

When you receive a new voice mail message, the new message LED on the top of the handset ?ashes and
appears in the handset display. In the event your message alert tone gets out of sync with your phone company's voice messaging system, you can reset back to its original "no messages waiting" state. To reset, press and hold [?nd hs] on the base for ?ve seconds. A beep sounds and the message alert tone is reset.

I have a uniden dect1580 6.0 and the red light in the left hand corner blinks all the time.

That is the message waiting indicator, it is telling you that your Call Notes (Or whatever your service provider calls it's voicemail) has a message waiting. If you do not have a message waiting, you can turn the light of by following these steps:

Resetting the voice message waiting indicator
When you receive a new voice mail message, the new message LED on the top of the handset flashes and
appears in the handset display. In the event your message waiting light gets out of sync with your phone company’s
voice messaging system, you can manually reset it back to the “No messages waiting” state.
Press and hold FIND on the base for five seconds.
Note: The handsets connected to the base will start to beep, however, keep pressing for five seconds.
A beep sounds and the message alert tone is reset.

Digital phone/answering machine

The red blinking light is an 'event' light, it does not necessarily mean a message is waiting for you, it will also start to flash if you have a missed call.
click 'up' on the round button to show the missed calls list and it will stop flashing, at least it does on mine!

Blinking red light for "new message" will not turn off (model DECT2085)

Try pressing and holding the "find handset" or "page" button on the basestation until the phone stops beeping. This should clear the new message LED indicator.

I purchased the philips cd255 phone yeasterday could you tell me if the base station should ring when the handsets not on and why do both hand set say new calls even when i clear one of them should it not...

To your 2nd question, the handsets operate independently, so any operation on one does not affect the others, whether storing a phone number or clearing records of calls.

Base unit light blinking GE 27831

I had the same problem. Once I read the owners manual I found the charge light blinks to indicate that you have voicemail waiting to be retrieved via telecom provider. Much to my surprise I have a voicemail account I never requested.

Another mystery solved - I now know why I missed so many messages.

Message Light flashing continously

Resetting the New Message LED
If the LED remains on after you’ve retrieved your messages, you may need to reset
the indicators. With the phone is in standby mode, press and hold find handset on
the base until the paging sound stops (about 5 seconds).
