Computer keeps shuting off automaticly

I'm having the same kinda problem but it's random or sometimes it duzent Finnish booting I know it's not over heating iv COMPLEATLY taken it apart and cleaned everything and applied new artic silver paste... and the ram is fine.. I have tested it in a nuther laptop.... It duz this on both battery and ac power.. Any clue what it could be?

Maybe the FAN sits on the CPU not funtioning. Or wondows need to be reinstall. Check the fan if it is not working anymore. If it works fine, the try to reinstall windows.

you need to re install the the windows....

Boot into safe mode (Keep hitting F8 until the boot option comes up)
In safe mode go to Start, Programs, Accessories System tools
Select System Restore
Pick a date before you loaded the printer driver software
The computer should be fine now but without the printer driver
Find a printer driver from the manufacturer that matches your model and operating system
Install the printer driver

Try rebooting the computer and press f8 key if its windows xp. Boot into safe mode and see if you can get in this way/.

your infected with a virus. the easiest way to remove the virus is to scan your hardrive in another computer with updated antivirus.

Try system restore first, before actually going down and removing everything from the computer.Sometimes it works wonders

How to do a system restore ?

1.Power on the system
2.Tap on the F8 key slowly 5-8 times before windows starts to load.
3.Select safe mode
4. Hit enter on the next screen
5. Login as adminstrator.
6. Click start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore
7. Select a date on the calander when the system was working fine
8. Computer would automatically restart

Does the laptop POST? does it boot up windows? or do the lights go on.... then off.... then on... etc?

if it starts booting windows then restarts itself then there is probably a problem with your windows install, it is crashing and that automatically restarts the pc.

If the lights keep flashing you probably have a hardware failure (motherboard)

1.) restore your computer to a previous date, one which the probloem was not occuring

2.) bakup your data, format the harddrive and reinstall everything

Preventing programs from automatically loading If you see the program you wish to remove however have Windows 95 click Start / Settings / Taskbar & Startup Menu / click the Start Menu programs tab
