Can't read DVDs

I'm using the TF-DVD7100 for more than a year and recently I can't play DVDs at all. When I insert a DVD and switch it on, the player can't recognise the DVD and it just write "no sidc". I cleaned the lan with a DVD cleaner but it didn't help. Any suggestion?

Hi, Im in New Zealand and was given one of these DVD players for my children. It has stopped working and wont play any discs at all. It also shows "Wrong disc or No Disc". The dvd spins then stops. Or it will keep spinning but not play anything. Can anyone help please?

My DVD player powers up, but cannot read DVD. It keeps telling me that there is 'no disc'. If ANYONE comes up with a solution, PLEASE! Post it! It worked great until one time it just quit.

My girlfriend has the same dvd player. I played around with it for a little bit and i came to find out that when hers said No Disc, it was because the motor was no longer spinning the disk. Check the disk through the window first to see if the disk is spinning, or open the lid, take a pen and press down the black switch where the door closes closest to you when looking at the disk opening, and see if the motor tries to spin. I am currently looking to see if i can find a replacement motor. Good luck.

Screen stays black how can i fix it?

Play a store-bought dvd movie. See if there is a switch for the internal screen and a video out source. Switch it. Use the power cord. If you get no results, chuck it, it's broken. Repair is not worthwhile.

Dratted Coby TF-DVD7100 Portable DVD player not working!

Its defective. Coby doesn't repair the units. The lense is off balance which is causing the laser to not read the dvd/cd.

Coby TF-DVD7100 7" portable flat screen...keep getting "Wrong Disc" Error

I have seen this problem on several Yamada & Xoro brand DVD players. If you remove the lid after powering down with the disc tray closed and a disc in it you may well find the ribbon cable to the read head is rubbing on the disc. The ribbon cable is held to the base of the box by a sticky pad under a 45 degree bend in it and a piece of sticky tape !!!. Power up unit, open disk tray, power it down, retape cable to base securely with small strips of duct or gaffer tape (using tweezers helps) and hey presto it will work again. The cable rubbing slows the disk spin speed hence "data read error" unit assumes "bad/faulty/wrong type of disk". All that technology screwed up by using a cheap bit of tape in the factory assembly, amazing eh !.
