I found a mixture of sites for the information
one owner of a 1998 25 hp evinrude says that it is a 2 stroke with a fuel mix ratio of 50:1 as 25:1 is a bit smokey
another site says that the recommended octane fuel rating is 87 although it might run better on 91
best advice is to find an evinrude service dealer and get the right information as the later 25 hp units are etec engine which will be 4 strokes
Johnson and Evinrude carbureted 2-stroke outboards since 1964 require a 50:1 fuel to oil mixture (2%) on engines without an automatic oiling system - 6 gallons of gas to 1 pint of outboard oil.
50 litres petrol:1 litre Outboard TCW3 OIl 100litres petrol:1 litre Outboard TCW3 @ 50:1 You Would Put 240Mls Oil In 12 Litres Petrol @ 100:1 You Woul Put 120Mls Oil In 12 Litres Petrol
using sthil 2 stroke oil mix at the rate of 50:1 that is 20 mils of oil per 1.0 litre of petrol that you mix , or if you mix 5 litres you would pour in 100 mils of 2 stroke oil into a 5 litre petrol petrol can , then add 5 litres of petrol only and give good shake to mix , then fill your blower with that mix
40:1, means 40 parts petrol to 1 part oil.
So it's (1 litre-1000ml) divided by 40= 25 ml of oil.
Even if you had an odd amount of fuel, Say 7.5 litre's-7500ml
7500 divided by 40 = 187.5ml of oil.
