Only red bulb working

I have a WS-55315 that is about four years old. After a storm a few weeks ago, only RED works. When I take off the back, I can see that there is not even a dim glow on either the green or blue bulbs. Where to start?

Re: Only red bulb working

Tried restoring to factory settings? Only blue was working for me and it helped *shruggs*. You can try... On the remote, press MENU then 1 2 3. Hit Enter. And it's restored to factory settings :]

I have a Mitsubishi WS-55315 55-inch tv that suddenly without warning the picture seems to have lost all red color. The picture seems clear but it is mostly green in color. The problem is intermittant...

Check the componet cables if you are using them for video from the cable box, the red may of came loose.Also you could have intermittent connection the video processor IC or as we techs call it the jungle IC. It is responsible for producing all the small singals used by the set.Tapping with the handle of a screwdriver on the signal board may lead you

Mits 55908 Convergence problem

Good Day, John;
It sounds like the Convergence IC's have poor solder connections, by re-soldering the convergence output IC's should solve your problem. The IC's are large and mounted to large silver "heat sink" with STK 392 # on them. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Red projector problem?

Most likely its the red drive transistor on the Red CRT pcb which is defective, or it could be as simple as a solder joint issue on the Red CRT pcb.

Good Day, and;

Try this first:
TO RESET THE CONVERGENCE EEPROM, PRESS "MENU 0359" TO ENTER THE CONVERGENCE MENU THEN "8970". If not the TV may have a circuit, come back.

Good Luck, Big Irish.

Philips 42PF9945 on/off switch problems

Hi huttleywoof,

I've had the same problem 1 week ago. Bought new wirewound ceramic resistors (5w 6.8 ohms) and replaced the old ones.... It helped to majority of people who had the same problem, but mine has now some other issues with appearing diffrent colors on the screen which are not supposed to be there :) Like all goes blask with few red pixels or green :-) Having fun now and can;t find service manuals for this TV :(

WS-55315 Red Gun Slow to come on

You could have a bad transistor for the red gun on the neck board or possibly a cracked solder joint on the transistor. The red gun may need to be 'cleaned' by a rejuvination process. The guns can get a buildup on them after time that needs to be burned off to bring it back to life. In some cases, if the coating on the gun is very thin it can be burned completely off during a rejuv. process leaving it totally unusable. It is possible to use a charged capacitor to 'zap' the guns to attempt a rejuv., but it may need more than what a capacitor can give it.

WS-55315 with only red bulb

It seems that you donot have the 200+ V line for the GREEN,BLUE. This line is the same as the read line, check connectors located on crt boards make sure they did not come apart. Also you can:This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. Shutdown at power with self diagnosis error 2-2. Check for open fuses F9A04 and F9A05 part # 283P144080 on the +24 and -24 volt lines. If the fuses are open the convergence output circuit would be suspect. 2. Shutdown at power with self diagnosis error 2-1. At power on check for 12-volts DC at connector KH pin 8, if missing check IC9C51 part # 270P990010 and L9C52 part # 441D009020 on the Signal PCB
