Sim password - Samsung Star GT-S5233 Cell Phone

The device itseld has been originally set to ask for a sim password. It could also mean that the device is locked to a specific carrier and will require a sim password(network unlock code) to work with a sim from another carrier.

The first problem is easily remedied as most sim card have a default sim password of 0000 or 1234 but that depends on the carrier. The sim card kit it came with should have the password written on it.

if you haven't previously set any password. the default password for any sim would be 0000 or 1234

Hi Mr Pranab, Since you have given password to the existing sim, when you put a new sim, it is password free. So you can go ahead & put the new sim in your phone without any worry. It will not ask for any password. But when you put teh old sim(existing) into any phone, you have to give the sim lock code to access the sim. If you have forgotten this code, please contact your network provider of the sim & get the sim unlock code.

switch your phone off for some minutes then switch it on again then wait for a duration of 5-10 mins then put in the sim password.

immediately it will ask u for a new password u can now put your desired password.


it will ask u to confirm the password so u will type it again then u can start using your phone.

The first step is to find out if the password is on your sim card. If you already know that it is on your sim card skip this step. Turn off your phone and open it up. You should see your battery. On most phones your sim card is located under the battery. When you find your sim card remember exactly how it goes into it's slot and take it out.

Put the battery back into the phone and turn it back on. It will tell you that your sim card is missing and on most phones ask you if you want to start without a sim card. Press yes and see if it asks you for your password. If it does not, then the password is on your sim card. Put the sim card back into your phone and call your service provider. Tell them that you forget the password to turn on your phone. They should be able to tell you what you password is after they ask you a few questions.

If the password was not on your sim card, then call your cell phone provider and ask them how to reset your password.

Service provider: Verizon, Vodafone etc are service providers.
Cell phone provider: Samsung is a cell phone provider.
