Handle release door in bucket

-   I had the same problem today with my spreader; while fertilizing my lawn, I noticed the door was not closing when I released the handle. As a temporary fix, i threaded a thin piece of galvanized wire thru the back of the door and twisted the ends together, I then attached a small bungee cord to the wire and hooked the other end over the edge of the spreader. Door now closes when handle is released.-   Rod E

-   When I was about to fertilize my lawn I gripped the handle to start fertilizing and something snapped off from under the spreader. Now the little door that releases the fertilizer dows not close unless I do it manually. I am just looking for a way to fix the spreader rather than buy a new one for a little plastic part that broke? Thanks. -   scro
