Broken gear, two gear on the cutting shaft, a littler one (steel) and a big one (plastic), I need the big plastic one, just a littler over 4''

    I call 1-800-223-2508 and ask for the phone number of my local dealer on Destroyit paper shredder & call them and my gear in the mail coming.

We have a destroyit 2602 cross cut shredder, when we put the paper to be shredded in, the shredder would go on automatically, now that does not hapeen. we have to manually press the on button.

The paper sensing switch lever has bent or broken or the switch is faulty. Check between the wheels about in the middle of the shredder to see if you see if the little plastic finger. If the finger is visible and can be moved, the switch is faulty. REMEMBER TO UNPLUG IT BEFORE DOING ANY INVESTIGATION.

Check to see if both the upper and lower blades are turning. If the motor is running and the blades are not turning, then it is probably just a broken gear.

The part number you need is 2601 062 as long as your looking for the gear that meshes with the motor shaft. The price is around 25.00 dollars and phone number for destroyit or as known MBM corp. 800-223-2508

I have the 2602 model and the indicator for the door being open stays lit even when the door is closed is there a way to fix this

Yes. There are two electromagnetic sensors (front and back). If defective, the main board will show a yellow or red light. These sensors function with the cabinet which is magnetized in the center (front and back).
