Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional With Servise Pack 2 (e8503040) for PC
There are two solutions to the problem. 1) If the product you installed is different from the version of the product key. Try to get the correct key for that version. 2) If both the versions are same then when activating windows choose activate by phone and dail the number on the screen, tell the your product id generated and get your confirmation id for your product and enter it now it will be activated. please donot forget to rate me :)

This indicates that the number you are putting in does not belong to the product you are installing. For example, if the sticker on your pc came with the pc with XP already installed this would be called an OEM product key. You might be installing a RETAIL version of XP and trying to put an OEM key in. This wont work. You will either need the key that came with the CD you are installing from or the original recovery/restore cd for your pc.
