Does this mean that the ram is damanged or that my motherboard cannot accept a 1gb sim?? please help

Have you tried the 1gb in the motherboard on its own but in different slots. i.e try slot 1 then slot 2 then slot 3 and see if you still get beeps.

Network driver


Follow these steps to get the right network driver for your asus a7v8x-x motherboard.

1. Click the link: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx
2. On Select Product, scroll down and choose "motherboard.
3. On Select Series, scroll down and choose "Socket A(462)"
4. On Select Model, scroll down and choose "A7V8X-X"
5. Click Search button
6. Select Operating System and click Search
7. Click "LAN" and select one from different download sites.

I have asus motherboard with amd processor , i tried to attach multipal harddisks with it but it does not work , what i have to do? for proper functioning?


you need to make one hard disk master and other as slave ...for this you have to change jumper setting which you can find near to the IDE cable ..

You might try switching the VGA cable if you haven't. If that doesn't work then I'd agree with you in saying the motherboard is likely fried.
