Repeatedly resetting itself is one of the classic symptoms of an incomplete restore or update process. You unplugged the device from your computer before it had fully synced, thus it has corrupted.

This is not a fatal problem, though.

You need to force the nano into recovery mode, which will (unfortunately) clear your data from it and restore to factory settings. The detailed procedure for this can be found here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

If you want to give a go at restoring before full-blown recovery (although from your description I doubt it will work), try the instructions on this page:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

The links I gave above were specific to the iTouch. Please excuse me, and try this one for reset/restore:

For details on simply reinstalling the USB drivers, look here:

I do apologise for the incorrect links above.

My ipod chromatic is completly frozen.

You are doing the reset wrong. Try doing this: Toggle the hold switch and put it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button simultaneously for ten seconds and the apple symbol should come up on the screen. Then it should work like normal. Hope this helps!

Press and hold the Menu and Centre buttons at the same time until the apple logo appears. (This usually takes between 5 and 10 seconds.)

When i plug in my chromatic it wont connect

it could be a USB port problem or the cord is just bad. first check to see if it is the USB port. If it works they YAY! if not, check to see if you still have warranty on your laptop/PC. if you don't the hehe your fault... Next check to see if it is the cord. you can do this by plugging someone elses Ipod into a different PC/Laptop. if neitherof these are your problem the go to customer service at apple of bestbuy(Apple recommened)
