Question about JVC Everio GZ-MG21 Camcorder
I need to edit the .MOD files that were stored on the camcorder's harddrive except Cyberlink DVD software and editor that came with the package won't allow me to import these files. Help!
Actually, converting the .mod file to .avi or .mpg is not sufficient. The corresponding .moi file contains date/time stamp info. as well as some resolution/aspect ratio info. There is a free utility at the following link:
that does a really good job at converting the .mod/.mov files into .mpg files properly.

If you are able to download the .mod file to your computer, change the file extension to .mpg. You should be able to edit your files once this has been accomplished. If your computer isn't showing file extensions go to My Computer/Tools/Folder Options, click on View, scroll down to where you see Hide extensions for known file types, and click in the circle to the left of it, so the dot, is gone. Hopefully this will get you what you need.
