I recently switched the computers in my mothers room and with that the wireless PCI card in the computers. At first i was having problems getting the thing to connect, it would detect a wireless network but wasnt able to connect. Now it is connected but the internet browser and such arent working. It shows a 1mbs connection which if im not mistaken is quite low and am not sure whether or not that has to do with anything. Any help would be appreciated

Hi,
In your Device Manager, uninstall all instances of the wifi card, shutdown. Physically remove the PCI wifi cards from the motherboard. Reboot in Safe Mode. Verify that no wifi card is installed in the Device Manager. Power down, reinstall the Wifi Card, reboot, Windows should auto detect and auto install.
You may need the original CD installer of the card, if not available, you need to download the drivers before uninstalling the card. As a precaution, use the features of System Restore.
Hope this give you an idea. Post back how things are or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
