LCD active but no picture

Everything is fine except that in camera or movie mode there is no picture. I have a picture when I review the shot I have already taken - before this problem If I take a picture without using the lcd it is blank/black. I tried going into setup to change things, but I get lost or nothing changes.

Re: LCD active but no picture

If your battery is really low, it does that. Try charging it for a while then unplug it and see if it works.

I had the same problem (that's why I came to this site) but I knew that it happened before and it could be fixed. I just checked it after about 15 minutes of charging and it's working now.

Defective ccd imager!! There's an internal loose inside ccd imager. Sony will replace this ccd imager free of charge. Year 2002 up to 2005 released units has a factory defect ccd imager. the company recalled those units and replaces with a stronger version of ccd imager.( they are still doing it). check it out.

The movie camera icon means that you have put it into video mode. I don't know how you do or undo that on your camera, but on my Canon there is a slide sitch that selects still shots, video clips, or review pictures taken.

Cybershot dsc-w50 records movies instead of pictures

I had the same problem with my camera.  I found that changing the mode from Multi Burst to Normal allows the camera to take normal pictures.  Go to Menu and scroll over to Mode, then select Normal.

So much LCD trouble...screen is blank/black

CCD sensor fault ( not outputting anything so no pictures captured ). Have the sensor replaced but try to have it done free of charge. Sony does replace them free of charge but you have to check with them ( not all models with this fault are repaired free of charge ).

Sony cybershot dsc-s600

Hi, here is a temporary solution that might work for you as it did for me:

1: turn on the camera in picture/movie review mode
2: turn the screen off (not the camera)
3: change from review picture/movie mode to take picture/movie mode
4: turn the screen back on.

You should now be able to take pictures and record.

Hope this is of some help.

Pentax Optio 555 LCD screen blank problem

No I don't believe it is your shutter, more than likely it is a LCD Screen problem. I would suggest you take your camera back to the shop where you purchased the camera and have it serviced under warranty. I had a customer with an Optio 550 come in and it looked like every shot was taken through 'venetian blinds' and the problem was with the LCD Screen and the camera was sent back to Pentax and repaired under warranty.
