I have tried everything and I don't know what else to do. I am working on a dell inspiron 1150. I have installed a new hard drive and I'm attempting to install windows xp pro. The problem is that I absolutely can't boot from the cd rom drive, even though I have changed the boot order in the bios. I keep getting a black screen with the message, "no boot sector on hard disk - No bootable devices ----Strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility. I have even attempted to use an external cd rom drive and set the first order in the boot sequence to USB storage device but I continue to get the same message. I am just about ready to throw this thing out the window!! Can anyone help me with this?
