This may have a different type of triggered turn on wire. On some of the older Pioneer amps (and maybe some new ones) the trigger wire would SUPPLY B+ TO THE RADIO and when the radio was switched on the amp would sense a current draw on that wire and would then switch on. Unlike most common amps which sense the presence of B+ on the trigger wire supplied by the radio and then turn on. Look in your owners manual to see kind of turn on system you have. If you don't have an owners manual then perhaps you can download one from Pioneer support. good luck

Hi there, check when you have switched off the power in the car to see if the amp power lights are still on, if so there could be a problem with your remote wire. Check the cables to he rear of your stereo and with a test meter, determine which one loses power when the ignition key is removed. When you have found this cable, splice your remote lead to this one, and your amp should switch off when you switch the car off, thus saving your battery. You could wire it to a permanent live feed and install a switch to allow you to run the amp without the key in the ignition but dont forget your battery will run down fast because Amps use a LOT of power.

i doubt its the rca cable. check the connections from the back of the head unit, also check that you didnt blow any fuses either from the wire from the battery or on the amp also check the remote wire (little blue wire) and make sure its grounded really well

I have a 1200 watt amp and 2 12 in pioneer champions and it keeps killing my battery how do I hook up this capasitor I just bought?

first make sure your power wire is directly hooked to the battery, {make sure ure in line fuse is pulled} power wire that goes to positive of power cap , ground wire is grounded to chasis, now attach aditional power wire to amp and aditonal grond to amp . make sure all conections are solid and tight { also make sure inside of power cap is tight as well after long periods of time the insides loosen } i have 2 -1,000 watt sony xploid amps and 2- 1,200 watt sony expoid subs and they pound hard . i probley should have 2-1.2 farrid caps for what i have but it seems that its holding its own

I have a Pioneer GM X862 car amp, with a constant red light on it. Also, it is supplying the subs with power, they are lightly vibrating but its not pushing like it should. No bass.

Make sure your power line comes directly from the battery and that iyt has no abrasions or cuts in it. Check your ground and make sure that it has a good connection to the vehicle chasis. Ensure that the remote line is connected properly to the remote lead from your head unit/receiver.

Common mistakes in this area are using the remote turn on lead as a power lead. It does not have near enough power to drive the amp so you will only get a slight trickle of power.

Good luck!

it could be the amp it could be the way you've installed and if you have a sub in an enclosure the wires could be touching the postive and negetive speaker wires what ever the problem is the amp is in protection mode i hope this helps hope its not the amp i hope its just the wiring

I got a 800 watt amp from my friend and he didnt have instruction

What's the exact model of your amp? For taking the higher frequencies/treble out of the subwoofer, the amp should have a little button on the side that says "Hi Pass" or "Low Pass" or maybe an adjustable knob-thing that says "X-Over". These will set a cut-off frequency for your sub output. Some amps don't have this feature, but many do.
