Most rifles will hit whithin at least one inch across a normal back yard. You're quality is going to come from the manufacturer. CO2 and Air Pump is a personal choice, I have noticed no difference in performance, though some say CO2 is more reliable. Daisy is a classic manufacturer and has some modern, good weighted rifles that will shoot dependably. Anything with a Walther barrel or the Walther name is a good investment when it comes to rifles (not so much for pistols). Break barrel actions are prone to jam, be difficult to open once lead shavings build up, and pinch nastilly, and if you have a child or are a novice shooter yourself, a traditional action will help you learn proper habits early on. You really shouldnt spend 300$ for an Air Rifle, or even 200...Maybe even 100.

Ilive in indiana and i have a problem with ratcoons . so i set out to buy a good air rifle , i though i had one then i put a bb .177 cal , in my brandnew BEEMAN air gun ,the the bb feel out the barel ......

Are you sure its a bb gun and not a pellet gun? Usually bb guns have a magnet on the bolt, that keep the bbs from falling out. Pellets don't roll so the won't roll out the barrell.

Point of impact changes with every shot

Mount the rifle with the scope and make a mark on the backstop right where the crosshairs are pointed at

Shoot several times, several shots will surley jolt the scope some.

If the crosshairs have moved much past your mark then this would indicate the scope is the issue.

If the crosshairs are still pretty well centered to the mark, its not the scope.

If at the same time your grouping looks terrible, and your scope still is on the mark, and the gun is WELL mounted, then the issue is with the accuracy of the rifle.
Make sure the rifle is mounted good for this to ba accurate .
Hope this helps

Every time i set the scope the pelets hit ese

I would check your pellets.

Light pellets typically perform horrible in break barrel rifles due to their tendancy to fly around

Make sure you have a stiff, tight fitting pellet. Smaller soft pellets also will contribute to accuracy issues as they deform much and can let air escape from around the skirt when fired (called "blo by")

It takes 12 pumps to get a strong shot off and side spring load d

Hi Guy

There are 3 types of air rifles. Pump, Spring, and CO2. You have a Pump. These work by compressing air into a cylinder at the base of your rifle (where the chamber should be) and releasing it when you hit the trigger out the back of the cylinder. In that is a few Rubber O Ring seals that deteriorate under higher pressure than they are built for (10+ pumps). For the performance to be improved you would need a new O ring from the manufaturer (only if your gun is expensive enough (300+??)(there are some air rifles that are break action with like 40 pounds of break and are spring. subsequently they fire at over 1000 fps up to 1300 or 1700 or something i cant remember, but the require a firearms license or to be bought and delivered to the local police shop and picked up) so if you rifle is expensive enough you can get a new part. If not you can get a new rifle unfortnately and keep that one as a beater. To maintain that gun donnot charge it past 11 Pumps this should prevent further deterioration.

As per the sring is a pain in the as to load your gun, that comes down to how expensive your gun is again. if you get a cheap one they usually have you hold open the chamber. Better models have a reccess inwhich you can rotate a plastic nub from the spring into to lock it down. Other models use clips etc.

My suggestion if you do decide to go get a new one. Buy a break action. You cant overpower them and they are extremely quick to reload. (the constant pressure of a break (same pressure each fire) can help you fire better too).

You could also take the gun apart A LITTLE BIT it is a few simple pieces. GL
