It looks like your right, and it is no longer supported..

perhaps with the Magellan RoadMate PC application, there may be additional download available...

Did you try to install the "Region Update 2.18" from magellangps.com ?

• If you did, there is a solution posted for that.
  
• If not, have you ever done a back-up onto an SD card?
• If you did, copy USBTRANS folder from the backup to the Maestro SYS folder via a USB cable. Try it now.
  
• If it still doesn't work, you will probably have to send it to Magellan for repair. Be prepared to wait a few months for it to be returned, and don't expect them to contact you with updates. I know that stinks, but it is the way it is.

unfortunately you have to purchase the unlock code from magellan. You contacted magellan and the unit is no longer able to be unlocked? Once I have more information I can assist you further.

How could you lose the Sim on dropping it?

Any new sim card or SD card really will fit it. But if you are looking for map replacement then Magellan are the only people who can supply the correct maps. There is a charge for maps $150 approx. So be aware that they do not replace maps of SD cards free. You will need your serial number, as these are tracked to stolen GPS before any new map0s are provided.

make sure the battery is charged up good, then take it outside and turn it on and leave it in clear view of the open sky for up to 30 minutes to acquire the satellites especially if its been reset.

if that fails, reset the unit...turn it on, then locate the reset button on the left side bottom of the gps and use a paper clip to depress the reset switch...it should restart on its own..take it back outside and let it in clear view of the open sky for up to 30 minutes.

if that fails..go HERE and get the update and follow the instructions..you will have to sign on to the Magellan site before you can download anything.
