Hp proliant ml350 gen5 keeps shutting down unexpectedly.

Open the top . Turn on. Populate any empty fan slots, and replace any with amber / red indicator lights. You can also try reseating. Fans are hot swappable.

You should have been using Insight Manager. Login locally and go to http://host:2301 you need the SIM administrator password. It will tell exactly what is wrong.

HP Proliant ML370 Server: Led shows red light

Hi there,
Your server definetly has issue booting first of all this is a little old server model so first open and blow air from a blower (&not use vaccum cleaner)
since problem could be anything frm a struck cpu fan or anything
then poer donw theM/c and locate the RAM its a smal hardware in green color vertically fitted to the motherboard it will have locks at the both ends press them downwards the RAM will pop out then clean the side that was inside the motherboard with eraser and nothing else(it might damage the RAM) then fix it as it was aligning the notch it should work

If this does not work out then tell me exct LED and sybol near it
Bye for Now

1 and 4 fan problem

This might happen when it detects a non-functioning fan (to preserve all other components).
We've had the same problem on one of our server, one fan wouldn't start (needed more current to start it)

We had to replace the motherboard on server to make it work, since this one got it power from the MB.
A temporarily fix was: Pop fan 4 out, give it a push so it rotated and quickly insert it before it stopped, hope it won't be stopping until you receive a new motherboard.

Removing cd rom

Preparation Steps before removing CDROM:

1.Power down and remove power to the system.
2.Remove access panel.
3.Remove CPU fans and fan basket.
4.Pull the system tray out until it stops.

To remove the CD-ROM drive:

1.Disconnect the power and signal cables from the CD-ROM drive.
2.Loosen the thumbscrew located in the fan basket area to release the metal locking bracket.
3.Slide the metal locking bracket away from the center of the server.
4.Push the CD-ROM drive out of the front of the chassis from the interior of the system.
5.Pull the CD-ROM out and away from the chassis.

There are many configuration settings, although i personally would hunt down an SCSI hard disk, many will fit from many other models just like IDE ones

ML530 Startup

Check your Hardware configuration.  This usually happens when you tell the system BIOS that you have for example, a second floppy or Hard Drive, when you do not.  So it stops and asks you what to do next.

Hope that helps.
