Error code of E4 on Dometic HP air conditioner ??

Just replaced yesterday and now we are getting the error code at the controls. Air won't work but fan & furnace will come on.

That's one of the problems. In all the paperwork that came with this RV, there is no manual that I can check to trouble shoot, no legend .... I tried looking online for the manual with no result. The digital thermostat reads out an E4, error. That's it

Thank you for the info. The stat did reset .......... Amen to ya'll

Ok have you tried to remove the cover on the top section? Are the controls on this on the unit on the ceiling/ Or on the wall with a thermostat looking control?

We have to have your error codes to help look at the trouble area. And although you say your getting one we need to know what it is.

A legend is sometimes next to a wire diagram in the wire terminal panel.

    Look there and post back.

I just had the E4 code popup on my camper AC so I disconnected shore power and the battery for a few minutes and it fixed it and now works fine

16. SYSTEM RESET
a. Turn the ON/OFF switch to “OFF” position.
b. Simultaneously depress and hold the MODE and ZONE
push-buttons while turning the ON/OFF switch to “ON”.
FF should appear in the LCD display until the MODE
and ZONE push-buttons are released.
c. When a dip switch is turned on or off after initial configu
ration, a system reset will need to be done before the
Comfort Control CenterTM will recognize the updated selection. Try this. This is for the five button thermostat. Did you check the dip switches to be sure the proper ones are turned on? I need to know which stat you have 4 or 5 button. I have trouble shooting for both.
If you notice reset needs to take place after a dip switch is turned on or off. The dip switches are on the circuit board. You need to drop the lower cover. the dip switches will read in this order #1 heat strip/ #2 zone2/#3zone3/ #4 zone4/#5 furnace/#6 differential/#7stag/#8 gen start. Check this out and be careful. Turn off the stat to change dip switches. On will be toward the description. If you don't have remote start gen set the dip should not be on. If you dont have a Zone 3 the dip should not be on, etc.

E4 Error Code
The E4 display is not actually an error code, but indicates that the air conditioner has entered defrost mode. This occurs when the unit detects ice on the evaporator which located behind the front grille. Once defrosted, the air conditioner will resume normal operation.

Error code e4 unit airconditioner

Not sure about E4 , but 4 blinks or flashes usually means the compressor isn't starting properly. It could be a faulty start capacitor or wiring or faulty indoor PCB (Board)
