No sound on video taken with my digital camera PLEASE HELP

I believe the speaker may have gone. Because when I take a memo there is still no sound. Today was my son's Pre-k graduation and I recorded the whole thing only to find there is no sound. I am heart broken. Is there any way of recovering the sound file or anything. Or is this just a lost cause. Please help.

Is there sound when you play back the video on a computer? If not, then I'm afraid you're out of luck (unless you can dub the soundtrack from someone else's recording).

SOURCE: Digital camera won't take pic

HELLO NEWFIE,

YOUR CAMERA HAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM THAT THE FE-210 HAS. YOU MUST PAINSTAKINGLY TAKE APART YOUR CAMERA PIECE BY PIECE. MAKE SURE TO CAREFULLY REMOVE THE SMALL SCREWS THAT ARE UNDER THE COVER PLATES FOR THE USB, VIDEO OUT AND DC INPUT SLOTS. ON THE RIBBON FOR THE FACE AND THE LCD, YOU MUST "LIFT UP" ON THE RIBBON LOCKS. SOME ARE BLACK AND LOOK LIKE A TAB AND SOME ARE WHITE AND LOOK LIKE A "PUSH IN" TYPE OF LOCK. THEY BOTH SWIVEL "UP", NOT PULL OUT!!! RETAIN THE WHITE LOCK AS IT WILL NEED TO BE PUT BACK IN THE SAME WAY. ONCE THE FRONT COVER IS OFF, REMOVE THE LCD THE SAME WAY. IT WILL HAVE 2 SCREWS IN OPP. CORNERS AND A RIBBON WITH A BLACK LOCK. ONCE THE LCD IS REMOVED, REMOVE THE MAIN BOARD BY REMOVING ALL OF THE SCREWS IN THE CORNERS AND THE ONES THAT HAVE "GOLD" AROUND THEM. THERE IS A SMALL SCREW UNDER THE DOOR FOR YOUR BATTERIES, DO NOT FORGET TO REMOVE THIS ONE ALSO. NOW, LIFT THE MAIN BOARD UP SO THAT YOU CAN SEE THE SMALL GOLD GEAR NEAR THE SHUTTER OPENING. TAKE A SMALL SCREW DRIVER, SUCH AS THE ONE YOU HAVE BEEN USING AND ROTATE THE GEAR. THIS WILL FIX YOUR PROB. NOW REVERSE THIS PROCESS AND YOU WILL BE UP AND SNAPPING.

SOURCE: can't hear audio on video playback (neither direct from camera nor from pc)

This is because the camera is not capable to record the sound. The camera was not designed with any audio speakers to be able to record and playback sound recorded during movie mode.

No Sound on Video

Why not? It's a still camera that also happens to record short video clips. After all, a video clip is just a sequence of still images taken one after another quickly.
Sound is a totally different thing, requiring additional hardware such as microphone and speaker. If it did sound, would you expect it to do stereo? Would you expect high-fidelity four-channel sound?

I have been unable to view videos taken on my camera from the start , do I need a specific download or attachment ? Kodak EasyShare C530

No download is required to view videos on your camera.
It could be caused by a fault in the firmware however unfortunantly there is no update available online.

Please note:
There is no volume button since this camera has a microphone, but no speaker.
You can only hear the sound when you transfer the file to a TV or computer.
