the x-clamp kit either works or it does,nt. this can sometimes be only a temporary fix. the motherboards warp when overheated. the only real way to solve this is to re-work the cpu and gpu chips.

Try unplugging all the cables. Let it rest for a couple of minutes. Then plug everything in and see what happens. Common problems with the xbox is overheating, RROD, corrupted video, dotted lines accross the screen.
Try contacting the store where it was bought. See if they can replace it for you. Some places have 90 days warranty.
If that doesnt work then you need to contact microsoft and fill out a repair order. I myself had 3 RRODs and they were all fixed in less than 5 days, sending it in to Microsoft.
Their site is: https://myservice.xbox.com/en-us/Pages/Welcome.aspx
Follow the instructions and if needed give them a call.
Dont feel bad, more than half of all xboxes sold have had this issue come up. I myself had it happen 3 times with two different Xboxes. 1 original and 1 elite.
NO dont use a lense cleaner. chances are you are about to get the rrod, this hapeened to me. i suggest give the console about a week to cool down then try it again
your xbox is gunna get the rrod soon (red rings of death) my xbox had this prodlem few days later rrod happend technically the only thing you can do is well w8 for it to get the rrod and send it in if you got your warranty still if no warrenty is on it well have fun paying 140$ to get this problem fixed or go on youtube after it rrods and look up the xclamp repairs for xbox 360 i have used it on several xbox 360s it seems to work fine after words
If this is the same problem I had, mine went for 2 weeks, everyday with me pushing the on button and it stood there like a giant powerless paperweight. Then one day it just suddenly turned on, unfortunately it turned on with RRoD. I'm actually familiar with repairing the RRoD problem, however its been a month now and everything i've tried it just stays on RED Ring of Death. So sorry this isn't a solution, but if you be patient, maybe yours will turn back on without RRoD
I've had this happen twice now and both times my warranty has just expired by a month, i spend and hour moanin on the phone to xbox but they still want me to pay over £80 to fix it!
So here is what u do; **** and moan to all your friends impotently about it, look at the xbox for long periods of time with distain while muttering insults to yourself, call Bill Gates a complete W**ker repeatedly for a few days and then swallow ur pride in a big lump and end up payin for the damn thing while emtily promising yourself that if it happens again your not getting another one! When it finally does happen again (one month after the warrenty runs out to the day no doubt) repeat the prosses!
Are all the little contact fingers on the AV connector all good?
Have you tried a diff AV cable yet?
