Re: cant get rid of captions

Look on top and behind of the monitor you will find buttons for your TV then follow this steps: The Setup menu lets you configure the TV to fit its surroundings and your preferences. To access the Setup menu, press MENU, and then select Setup from the Main Menu.closed caption options are: CC Setting Lets you choose the way closed captioning information appears on the screen. Off No captioning information displayed. On Always Captioning information shown always, when available. On When Muted Displays captioning information, when available, whenever the TV?s sound is muted by pressing the MUTE button. The captioning information is not displayed when the sound is not muted. Make sure all of the options for closed caption are off press exit and you are good to go.

NS-32LCD remote is lost, cant turn off closed captioning

you are going to have to locate an original remote--don't waste money on a Universal which will never have that feature.

Your only other hope which I presume you have looked at is being able without the remote to enter the menu and do it manually---FYI some cable boxes (or sat) have this CC feature as well---look there if using a box.

Hello, it's not PiP that's on , it[s a closed caption issue. the CC is in the text mode and is an easy fix. just press the CC button on the remote (it's located above the 1 button) till it says off on the tv screen, or if you use closed caption select CC1. this should take care of your problem......thanks, Terry

I can't get rid of the captions on the 50 inch LG TV

My Lg was doing the same thing. Every movie we watched had subtitles running at the bottom of the screen. The button was at the bottom of the remote. Once we pressed it, it came up on the screen saying CC/OFF. Also had this happen on same TV with DVD player and had to turn it off with the DVD remote. Subtitles OFF/ON

Have a KDL-52BR4, cant get rid of closed caption on the screen even after pushing cc button on remote

If you are using a Cable Box, make sure that CC is off. Same applies to a satellite receiver. If you don't have either of those then I would contact your service center to have it looked at. The micro is the only thing that can cause that, providing your sure about how to turn the closed caption off in the menu. Try that way first, instead of using the CC on the remote.

There's a large black blank square in the center of the picture. how do i get rid of it? thank you

Check your closed-caption settings and make sure you have captioning turned off. You probably have it set for "text" mode now, and this causes the black box on some channels and programs. The TV is clearing the area where the text would be displayed, but there's no text. Most TV remotes have a single button to access caption settings, and it's easy to change the settings without knowing it. Then you're stuck with the mysterious black box.
