Channel Memory Not working

The memory on my tv now does not go above channel 12. Even trying to adjust the memory manually does not fix this problem. My convergence problem comes and goes. However if the tv is not attached to cable it picks up the local channels without any convergence issue.

My Technika TV model X22/14C-GW-TCD-UK loses all of its channels when I turn it off. I have to retune everytime I turn the TV back on, Any Ideas welcome, many thanks

All sets use a eprom in some form or another that stores the memory of what up/down channels are programmed into the memory of the set-I will presume no box is used in line with this set for signal---very rare for this problem to even happen---next try when turn on to direct enter a known channel and see if set goes there--then manually add it in the menu---if set does not lose that memory at worst you can manually add every channel one at a time.

Technika flat screen tv forgets digital channels found if switched to standby

Channel memory of stored channels is contained in a Eprom which may be part of the microprocessor------voltage when set is shut off is often from either the standby supply or even a filter cap that holds sufficient charge to maintain voltage for the memory.

Look in those areas first.

An alternate way would be to go to a box and input signal to rear audio and video jacks---the box would then retain channel memory etc and this would bypass your issue.

P50pdtv10a will not change channels stuck on channel 3

Hello
The system memory IC of your TV has damaged. This is one, which stores all the setting we have done with remote control, including channel memmory. This IC works in conjunction with the main system control IC. When we switch OFF or do any other adjustments with the tV, all the data will be stored in this IC, and tetreived from it to main system IC to process when we switch ON the TV. This is a non-volatile memory chip, ie, even the power is OFF, the data stored in it won't lost. This is a very small IC, can locate very near to main system control IC. Will have 8 solder terminals [normally], and ver cheap to buy too. Even though it is a very cheap and small one, the function of it in the circuit is great. In some Vizio sets, this IC will be of SMD [surface Mount Device] type, and on othere will be a DIL [Dual In Line] type pin confujuration. If your TVs memory is of first as stated above [SMD], replacing it will not be an easy job. If it is of second type, it can be replace easly.
Anyway, this is not a work that can be done without skill. If you have enough knldege in electronics, and have a concept of desoldering and soldering, have all soldering equipments with you, you can do this work by yourself at home. Otherwise you have to seek assistance from an experienced service technician. OK.

My Coby 32 in tv won't store my channel memory. When I first got the tv, it stored the channel memory but now I have to reprogram it every time I turn it on.

Hello

When autotuning the set goes throughs all transmitting channels, shows to be receiveing all channles, but seems to be tunes indefinitely, and no channels are locked, the memory IC inside the set has got damaged. In normal case, the TV will tune to all available channels at that tiime, in air or through the cable, whatever the case may be, tune up to last channel, and will stop, and will display the first channel it has got. Then we have to make adjustments on channels.
The memory IC i stated above is a small IC with 8 terminals, and can be located very near to system control Ic, at system control section. In some sets, it will be SMD type [Surface Mount Device], and in otheres will be of DIL type [Dual In Line]. If it is a DIL type, it is very easy to replace. If it is SMD type, proper care should be taken when replacing it, not to damage any track on circutit board and nearby components.
Open your TV, locate the IC and desolder it out of the printed circuit board, go for a same type and number, replace it. This will solve your problem.
OK.

My television continues to display the phrase "DIGITAL CHANNEL SIGNAL STRENGTH IS LOW" I ahve called the cable company several times and had this checked to see if it was maybe a defective box...

Go to Menu - then channel - then memory channel - let the tv reconfigure the channels. You might need to unplug tv (the light to tv might still be on - press the on button to release the juice). Then plug tv back in. I did this and it worked.

Dual channel Mode willnot work over 2 gb's of

Hi, please read page 12, section 2.3 in your manual. Dual channel memory must be connected per manual specs.
(Correct colored DIMM slots)
Link to Asrock manual; ftp://174.142.97.10/manual/P4V88.pdf
Main web site provided by Asrock; http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=p4v88

Once the memory is installed into the correct colored DIMM slots your system should see up to just under 4GB if 4GB is installed while using windows XP. (Refer to Asrock's web site).

Hope you find this helpful and working.
