Contact caller name no longer displayed when receiving a call

Caller ID
If you subscribe to caller ID service, information about each caller appears after the first or second ring. If you answer a call before the caller information appears on the screen, it will not be saved in the caller ID log. The caller ID log stores up to 50 entries. Each entry has up to 24 digits for the phone number and 15 characters for the name. If the telephone number has more that 15 digits, only the last 15 digits appear. If the name has more than 15 characters, only the first 15 characters are shown and saved in the caller ID log. Review a caller ID log entry Press CID when the phone is not in use. Scroll to browse through the caller ID log. When the desired entry appears: Press repeatedly to show different dialing options. Press 1 repeatedly if you need to add or remove 1 in front of the phone number. Press or to dial the displayed number. Delete a caller ID log entry When the desired caller ID log entry displays, press DELETE. Delete all caller ID log entries Press MENU when the phone is not in use. Call block
If you subscribe to caller ID service, you can set the telephone to block unknown calls and certain undesired calls. The call block list stores up to 20 entries. Block unknown calls Press MENU when the phone is not in use. Scroll to Call block, and then press SELECT. Scroll to Calls w/o num, and then press SELECT. Scroll to choose Not block or Block, and then press SELECT. Add a call block list entry 1. Press MENU when the phone is not in use. 2. Scroll to Call block, and then press SELECT. 3. Scroll to Block list, and then press SELECT. 4. Scroll to Add new entry, and then press SELECT. 5. Enter the number. • Use the dialing keys to enter the number (up to 30 digits). 6. Press SELECT to move to the name. 7. Use the dialing keys to enter the name (up to 15 characters). Additional key presses show other characters of that particular key. 8. Using the Caller ID and Redial Lists
Caller ID (CID) is a service available from your telephone provider that shows the phone number (and sometimes the caller's name) of incoming calls. Contact your telephone provider for more information.

When a call comes in, the phone displays the number and name (if available) of the caller.
The phone saves the information for the last 30 received calls to the

CID list.
When it's in standby, the handset shows how many calls came in since the last time you checked the CID list.


Each handset remembers the last 5 numbers you dialed on it. The redial list is separate for each handset.

This feature lets you know who is calling

without looking at the display.

To use this feature, you must:

- subscribe to a Caller ID service of

your service provider/telephone

company.

- turn this feature on (page 24).

When caller information is received, the

handsets and base unit announce the

caller's name or phone number received

from your service provider/telephone

company following every ring.

The unit announces in English only.

L Name pronunciation may vary. This

feature may not pronounce all names

correctly.

L Caller ID service has a limit of how

many characters can be displayed. If

the caller's name is too long, the

handset may not be able to display or

announce the entire name.

L The announcement is heard at the

same level as the ringer volume (page

16, 23).

L If you turn on the answering system

and set the number of rings "2

rings" (page 36), the unit does not

announce the caller information. If

"Toll saver" is selected and there

is a new message, the unit does not
announce the caller information.

if the same no. is stored with two different names then it will not display the callers name.

go to menu,select call settings,then select caller id network and set it to 'automatic selection'.the phone will detect the network and name will be displayed.

This happened because you received a call when your text messaging screen was up. All you have to do is restart your phone. It will continue to happen every time you receive a call when you have a text open.

Thanks for using FixYa. I think you have stored more than 100 Caller ID messages and hence the caller ID is not showing on Uniden Tru8888. In the following cases the caller ID will not be shown-

If you answer a call before the Caller ID message is received (for example, before the second ring), the Caller ID message will not appear.

When the call is received via a telephone company that does not offer Caller ID service, the caller’s phone number and name does not appear. (This includes some international calls.)

When the call is via a private branch exchange (PBX), the caller's phone number and name may not appear.

You may receive any one of the following messages:

When a private name is received; Private Name
When a private number is received; Private Number
When a unknown name is received; Unknown Name
When a unknown number is received; Unknown Number
When invalid data is received; Incomplete Data

The Caller ID list stores information for incoming calls - even unanswered calls. You can store up to 100 Caller ID messages and phonebook entries (including Speed Dials) for each handset and the base. You can view the Caller ID list through the handset or base during a call or when the phone is in standby mode.

Memory locations for Caller ID messages and Phonebook entries (including Speed Dials) are common, you can store up to all 100 entries for each handset and the base. Caller ID messages are not stored when you have 100 phonebook entries. When you have stored a total of 100 phonebook entries and Caller ID messages, the oldest Caller ID message is overwritten.
