Question about Compaq Inkjet Ij300 Printer

Printing I am very disgusted with my Compaq IJ300. I have tried to print something for several days. It looks like it is printing in triplicate. The page is very blurry and the ink is dark. It is a new cartridge. I am trying to print out a resume for a new job, but I can't send it like this.

Sadly, Compaq printers (rebranded low-end Lexmarks, the X11 in your case) were not robust at all. Since they were originally created to be a free pack-in for new home PC's, they were not really meant to be used for more than a year or so. It sounds like there is some build up around the jet area, this build up will smudge around when printing. You can try to clean it out with a few cotton swabs although if you aren't careful, some cotton fibers might join in the mess. Another trick I have done in the past is run a piece of cardstock through the printer a few times. Sometimes the extra thick paper will help scrape off excess inks.

The first 2 things I would do are check that you are using genuine Canon cartridges and run a head clean on the printer.

Head cleaning options are usually available under printing preferences for the device.

The print size changed from regular sized to very small. What can I do?


try printing a test page from the properties menu of the printer and see what happens.If it's alright thenit;s what you printed that cause the reduction

Black cartridges won't print. Color cartridge works.


Why dont you go to the store that you bought the printer from and ask one of there people there fix the problem..

Will not stop printing


As above my printer will not stop printing. As long as it as paper it continues to run paper though.

You mean it prints 2 copies? Open control panel, then printers. Right-click your installed, default printer and select properties. Under the General Tab select printing preferences. Then select the advanced tab. There should be a setting in there called copy count, make sure it's set as '1'.

Printing Problems


My compaq ij300 was doing the same thing. I removed the cartridge, took a kleenex and wiped the back of the cartridge until it was completely dry and shiny looking...until no more ink would come off on the kleenex. Replaced the cartridge and aligned it using the printing software. I didn't use the test page, just typed a one-line document and hit Print. That took care of the problem.

Printer prints each line 3 times


There are a number of possible reasons for the problem you are experiencing: 1. The printer head might need alignment - use the printer?s software to align the heads 2. Does the problem occur with different cartridges? Try with an old cartridge before opening a new one. 3. If the ink is smeared you might want to clean the printer - make sure no hair or dust balls inside.
