No sound i have no sound coming out of my hp 5000 laptop worked before turned it down know it wont go back up

when you say some times it keeps going does this mean the unit turns off ??,,,,this model has the gpu problem,,,dry solder joint of the graphics card, of which you can have the board repaired or replace the board

so if wont turn on with or without the battery is it, does it try to turn on, (makes a sound and lights turn on then turn off) if so it sounds like hardware failure, a hard reset shouldnt of killed it because it deals with software, not harware

Sounds like Hardware fault but I have found a number of laptops where they were infected, So ot be sure start the laptop in safe mode by pressing F8 every 4 sounds a couple of times select safe mode, did the laptop shutdown? Regards GeWiz

The memory modules are located at the bottom of the laptop under one of the panels.
The memory modules may be OK and may only need reseating. Then boot up the laptop to see if it works, if it doesn't work, the memory may be faulty, take it to a computer shop to get it tested.

Bad day, huh? Here area couple of quick and easy things to try that may fix your problem. Then again, they may not,but it never hurts to try!

Step1
1) Take out your laptop battery.
2) Remove your AC power cord, that's the wall power, removeit.
3) Now hold down your poser button for at least 30 seconds.

That will drain any static electricity that has builtup on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of ablack screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power andhit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up. Reinsertyour battery.

If that doesn't resolve the situation try step 2

Step 2 Bad memory Your memory (RAM) may need to be removed, andthen put back in (reseated). The videoshares the system's memory, and will not function if there is a problem.
1) Reseatmodule(s).
2) Swapmodule, preferably with known good.

two things possibly, first, the cmos battery is flat causing cycling reboots, or you need to press and hold the power button while its booting up to turn it off to bring it out of restart

i agree with exon33 as long as you are useing realtec you can do that anything else and you better off using the disks that came with it

please connect your laptop to external monitor.
if it works with external monitor, then the problem is with your laptop monitor driver.if that is the case, then re-install laptop monitor drivers.
if it doesn't work even with the external monitor, then re-install graphic card drivers.

Shut down computer,plug in speakers,then power up computer.Computer should automatically install drivers,or give you option to install drivers from web.??
