I have fixed this a couple of times using what is widely known as the "reflow" method. You can attempt this yourself by following some instructions on the net and see some videos of this in action by going to http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=360+heat+gun&search=Search - just be careful, and understand that you could permantly damage your 360. By the way, your E74 error tends to result from faiure with the video encoder.

The E74 error is an error with the power supply (that 12 pound brick between the console and the plug). If it is still in warranty you should request a new power supply. If it isn't then you may have to buy one.

Error74

Says here that Error 74 is an I/O hardware error - HSIO related, could be crc error, or several things. The most probable is a problem with the scaler chip [ ANA or HANA ] chip near the AV cable connection. A faulty AV cable can also cause this so checking this first is advised. This error is covered by Microsoft's 3 year manufacturers warranty so long as no mods have been done to the X-Box.You need to contact Microsoft for a free replacement. Sometimes this can be a GPU error as well which can be fixed by replacing the "x" clamps that hold down the chips. Or a cold soldier joint located between the GPU and the main board could be the problem as well. Sometimes you can reheat the chips. If your X-Box is under warranty at all contact Microsoft first or you may not be eligible for the free replacement. Hope this helps.

We have erro code E-74. What do we need to do? We have a xbox 360

E74: I/O Hardware Error - HSIO related, could be crc error, or many things: There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. Microsoft covers this error under their 3-year warranty, this is available to anyone who hasn't modified their console. contact MS to get a free replacement console before attempting to fix this yourself. Failing that this error In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp replacement
( error 0102)

Error in the "Digital Backbone" (CPU/GPU/RAM), this is usually caused by a cold solder joint between the GPU and the main board.
There are two theories to fixing this one deals with the "X" clamps that hold down the chips. The other involves re-Heating the chips. DO NOT attempt either of these if your console is still under warranty. If your console is still under warranty return it to the store where it was purchased or call MS to have it replaced.

I hope this helps you.

System Error. Contact Xbox Xustomer Support. E 74.

E74 error is mostly caused AV cable failure, try using a different AV cable.
If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.In that case you should contact Microsoft and you would have to pay them if you are off warranty.

It is also related with the cooling system of GPU, if still unresolved on the first solution, you should call MS if you are still within warranty..

OK, this is a major Hardware failure.

Contact Microsoft for this repair if the new AV cord doesn't fix this issue. if its still under warranty, it will be a free repair.

360xbox one red bar flashing E-74

First check your AV cable. Unplug it, put it back in, turn back on. If that doesn't work, long story short, call support (18004myxbox).

Error explanation below:

E-74 - There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp replacement (error 102)

102 error - Error in the "Digital Backbone" (CPU/GPU/RAM), this is usually caused by a cold solder joint between the GPU and the mainboard.
There are two theories to fixing this one deals with the "X" clamps that hold down the chips. The other involves re-Heating the chips. DO NOT attempt either of these if your console is still under warranty. If your console is still under warranty return it to the store where it was purchased or call MS to have it replaced.
