I have the same problem someone else reported. Here is the info from their post:
"When I turn on TV the picture is so wavy it is unviewable. After about 10 minutes it would gradually clear and was fine. Now the waviness never goes away completely. TV is approx. 1.5 years old. this is caused by a bad convergence module, and there are probably some dried out electrolytic caps in the circuit as well. i have one in the shop right now that came in with the same problem. if you have it serviced, make sure they replace all of the convergence modules (there are usually 2, but sometimes 3 of them), because if one went bad the other(s) is likely to go out soon as well."
My TV is a Mitsubishi HD 1080 (WS-55809) How much are the convergence modules? How many do I need? Can I replace these myself?
-   Everytime I turn my t.v. on, it comes on real blurry. Then after three minutes it goes clear. Then a couple minutes later it goes blurry for thirty minutes then get clear again. What would be the problem? Would it be cheaper to buy a new t.v.?-   gary747

-   My set is a WS55807. Set is approx 6 years old. Convergence is off. Sometimes picture is concave at top and bottom. Then it will correct self. Can I repair this myself? What is cost of convergence modules? What is reasonable repair cost for technician? William in Michigan.-   Guest

-   I 'm having the same problem with a blurry, wavy barely viewable screen. The longer the TV remains on the better the picture becomes, although its not close to what it once was. Does anyone know what the problem may be and an estimate on servicing? Mitsubishi HD 1080, WS 55809
well unclejed, maybe you shouldnt charge someone $400 to fix a T.V. that is only worth $500 used with a part that cost $20 and an hour to install!

@unclejed ahem, what convergence module please?? the set has only one module and that is the DCU. so you have one in the shop, yes? are you sure you know what you are doing? by your description you don't and just get the real technicians out of work. do you think that is fair to rob us of work we need to make a living??
All three screws on the Convergence Module are loose. Picture converged downward in center and is wavy. Screws will not tighten due to excessive play around screws.
(1) Is complete removal of Light Box assembly required before repairs can be made. (2) is it a requirement for electrical adjustments and calibrations mandatory?

I have a 2004 Mitsubishi HD1080 Series 60'' widescreen, model WS-65315. I purchased a new Insignia surrond sound amp, mode lNS-R5101HP.I cant get the menu, for the amp,to show up on the tv. I am using HDMI cables, with an adapter for the DVI on the tv. I also have connected a Dish Network sattelite recvr and a PS3 wich both showed a picture thru the rcvr to the TV, but no sound.
