You need a special tool to disconnect the fuel lines, you can pick them up as a set at auto Zone for not too much. They're just a plastic tool that slips into the line connection & releases the spring lock.Good luck,

03 3.7 have new o rings for bottom of injectors do you put it on the head first or on the injector just put head gaskets on jeep

old post but see it asked many times.
assemble the rail first, its 1 piece so must be ready first.

Cambelt timing marks 4jx1

sounds like the injector sleeve O rings have failed this was common.
if you put a clear plastic piece of hose on supply line for diesel fuel filter to head fitting at front and fuel is not black but normal diesel colour thats good.
then put clear hose on return line fitting at rear of cylinder head and fuel is now darker, engine oil is by passing injector sleeve top O rings and entering into fuel gallery in head.
rocker cover, injector rail, injectors need removing and injector sleeves need replacing as well as O rings and seats.
a special tool is needed to remove the injector sleeves out of the head. you will also need to drain the cooling system before removing the injector sleeves, so coolant is also needed.
dealers have special tool for injector sleeves

I have oil leaking into were my spark plugs are what can it be

This is caused by a leaking valve cover gasket, you will need to replace it.
Instructions
    • 1Pop the hood on the engine compartment and make sure the engine is cool. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent possible shock. Remove the air outlet using a screwdriver. Loosen the PCV hose clamp at the valve cover with the screwdriver and pull the hose from it. Disconnect the quick connect fitting from the fuel line at the fuel rail.
    • 2Remove the fuel line clips from the fuel line bracket. Reposition the fuel feed line out of the way of the valve cover. Remove the bolt from the fuel line bracket using a wrench and take the bracket off. Mark the proper location of each of the wires on the ignition coils using the marker and masking tape and then pull them off.

    • 3
    • Remove the wiring harness clips from the valve cover. Remove the valve cover bolts using a socket and ratchet. Pull the valve cover away from the cylinder head. Remove the valve cover gasket from the cylinder head. Use the scraper to remove any gasket material that remains. Clean the cylinder head mounting surface using the rags.
    • 4Place a new gasket on the cylinder head. Place the valve cover on the gasket and line it up properly with the cylinder head. Secure the valve cover bolts using the socket and ratchet. Attach the wiring harness clips to the valve cover. Attach the wires to the ignition coils according to the labels you made.
    • 5Place the fuel line bracket in place and tighten the bolt with the wrench. Move the fuel line back into place and attach the fuel line clips to the bracket. Connect the quick connect fitting of the fuel line to the fuel rail. Connect the hose to the PCV valve at the valve cover and tighten the clamp with the screwdriver.
    • 6Connect the air outlet and tighten the clamp with the screwdriver. Connect the battery cable. Start the engine and check the valve cover for leaking around the new gasket.
  • It is important that you disconnect the battery as instructed. Otherwise, you are not only at risk of electrical shock, but you may also short out and damage other components.

How to install a fuel injector on a 2002 jeep liberty 3.7

so that mean the old one is all ready removed.?
or did you mean all steps in the fsm for INJECTOR.
the steps are the same on all EFI fuel rail injectors.
you could google that or you tube it or read the FSM.

hide call keys from step 2 on, or very bad things can happen.
(wife or kids no aware of danger)
ill just cover the (basics)
1: per FSM , depressurize the system, in can be at 60PSI
parked. so avoid fuel in eyes, or a fire. we do that first.
gain access to rail under failure. (RUF) (no barking)
2: remove injector X , wire plug. (failing)
3: then detach the injector rail clamps the both rails off as one....
injector are all now loose, to pull off.
4: add new seals to new injector, and install in reverse order.

that's it, only the gain access , varies,... mostly.

last depressure steps:
run engine,
remove fuel pump relay, engine stalls. key off, hide keys
!

next tje FSM words (just the OFF section)

  1. Remove fuel tank filler tube cap.
  2. Perform Fuel System Pressure Release Procedure.
  3. Remove negative battery cable at battery.
  4. Remove air duct at throttle body air box.
  5. Remove air box at throttle body.
  6. Disconnect fuel line latch clip and fuel line at fuel rail. A special tool will be necessary for fuel line disconnection.
  7. Remove necessary vacuum lines at throttle body.
  8. Disconnect electrical connectors at all 6 fuel injectors. Push red colored slider away from injector. While pushing slider, depress tab and remove connector from injector. The factory fuel injection wiring harness is numerically tagged (INJ 1, INJ 2, etc.) for injector position identification. If harness is not tagged, note wiring location before removal.
  9. Disconnect electrical connectors at throttle body sensors.
  10. Remove 6 ignition coils.
  11. Remove 4 fuel rail mounting bolts.
  12. Gently rock and pull left side of fuel rail until fuel injectors just start to clear machined holes in cylinder head. Gently rock and pull right side of rail until injectors just start to clear cylinder head holes. Repeat this procedure (left/right) until all injectors have cleared cylinder head holes.
  13. Remove fuel rail (with injectors attached) from engine.

I am trying to remove and reinstall the cylinder head of my 1994 S 10 pickup truck. I have removed the nuts and bolts holding the intake and exhaust manifolds to the head but I am having some dificulty in...

Leave the exhaust manifold attached and just push it away. Remove the head bolts and make sure all vacuum lines and fuel lines and water lines are disconnected. Make sure you have the head resurfaced before reinstalling and buy new head bolts. Remember to torque the head bolts to spec. But it seems to me like you pretty much got the hang of it.
