Question about Canon (6981A002AA) for imagerunner 2200, 2800, 3300 Print Server
There was a power outage at the school. When the Canon iR 2200 came back on, the only thing on the screen was that error code. Looked in the forums to see what others tried, and found the suggestion to hold #1 and #9 down while powering it on. Did so, and flashing cursor appears in top left of screen. Didn't know how long to hold 1-9, so let go, and the cursor dropped to the bottom left and was solid for 45 minutes. Powered off the unit and held 1-9 again, then powered on and let go. Cursor flashing in top left corner, but won't drop down now, after one hour. If HDD is gone, how to restore it? Thanks.
I have problem in my cannon ir 3320 it shows
Error code on screen is E602-0003
E602-001 & E0315-000d

E602-003，this code means Canon’s hard disksystem have some problems，the only solve way is change the hard disk。The hard sisk form our company just need connect to the printer then can use，without any unconventionality，till now our hard disk we selt to everywhere in China not found any trouble . if client’s machine already have print function, only need add our company’s print system then can get back the print function.(this print system need add RMB100）。If client’s machine don’t have print function, only need prepear the ROM card and network card from our company then can have the print function.(the ROM card and network card need add RMB600)。
Our major disk:IR 2200I、IR 2800I、IR 3300I、IR 3320I、IR 5000I、IR 6000I、IR 8500I k，price as following：

You were on the right track, but this process can take much more than 45 min depending on how many sectors (on the HDD) are toast. Unfortunately, one key issue with running this fix is that you are NOT to turn it off while running, which it sounds like you did and now you cannot access the drive. I don't know that I would say the the HDD is totally toast....but a service call to Cannon (or your equipment vendor) is most likely in order. Good Luck.

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

For problems with the hard disk on the Canon ImageRunner (my model is 2220n):
Step 1: Unplug the unit (leaving power switch on), and then plug back in while holding down the 1 and 9 keys
Step 2: Wait. The hard disk will reformat - you should see at first a flashing white block in the upper right hand corner, then you will see white blocks building rows on the screen left to right with the screen eventually filling entirely. This may take an hour or more.
Step 3: After reformatting, your screen should say "Download Mode" at the bottom. Now just turn the machine off, unplug it for a few seconds, plug it back in, and then turn it on (you must switch power toggle off and then on - not sure if unplugging is necessary but it worked for me).
This site is great and has saved us at least $1,000 on copier repair this year - repairs that really didn't require a tech at all.
