If the WEBcam driver is not installed then download and install it. You can download the WEBcam and device drivers from ASUS WEB site. Select your model motherboard/computer/laptop, and make sure you select drivers that matches your Windows operating system. Please click on this link to their WEB support site : - http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
Julie, start your laptop and before it gives the start up windows logo, press F8 a few times. If you pressed it at the right time than you shall see a bunch of options:
First, try to boot your computer using "LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION" and see if it works. If it works than its all fine and smooth sailing. Login to your windows and then as a precautionary measure, Re-install your Windows from the Asus Recovery Manager.
Second, if the first option fails, then select, "SAFE MODE" option and it shall login windows Safe Mode. From there go to Asus Recovery Manager and re-install your windows to be certain that it shall work fine now.
ASUS is a wonderful laptop company, you will be very happy with it for years to come. I don't work for ASUS just saying. Also please make the DVD Recovery Discs and uninstall the Trend Micro Anti-Virus it comes with and visit www.microsoft.com/securityessentials and download and install that FREE ANTI-VIRUS from Microsoft. I sell many ASUS's and highly recommend all of these steps.
Please select your operating system 32 or 64 bit.
