CHANGED INK, WON'T PRINT.

The printer requires both cartridges to have ink before the printer will initialize and operational. Even if you are only printing black and white both cartridge have to contain ink or the printer will error out. This is standard on all ink jet printers from every manufacturer. You will have to get ink before you can print.

Verify the data cable or the PC printer setting,perform the test page,if you make a copy not problem the cartridge change.

Problem is with carriage unit.

This error occurs when printer fails detecting ink level or printer assume that no ink in the cartridge. We cannot use print, copy,scan, and fax function before the problem fixed. It's recommended for you to replace ink cartridge. To continue using the printer without replacing the cartridge we must deactivate ink level detection function. Unfortunately, all-in-one printers are printers/copiers. The scan to a computer function is a secondary function and the unit has interlocks to keep it from being damaged when the ink is out. There is a way to print with only one ink cartridge in place but this only allows print jobs from the computer. The copy and scan functions are locked. You need a stand-alone scanner if you routinely want to scan to your computer without a printer ink level OK status report.

Try this approach:

1. On the printer operator panel, on Copy mode, press Options.
2. Select Maintenance.
3. Select Clean Cartridges

Your printer will then print a test page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them.
Try to print your document again to verify that Copying is properly functioning now.

here's a solution i came across when dealing with the same problem. apparently the printer expects all of the cartridges to be full and has a sensor to make sure they are even when only printing black. hope this helps!

CL41, this is the one you are using for your cartridge.

Did you change your cartridge with brand new one or refilled one??

If you did with refilled one, the ink level won't go back with full.

This is the method how printer measures the ink level.

1. Each cartridge has a serial number.
2. As soon as installation in printer, printer recognizes the cartridge by serial #.
3. And the printer starts to count the printing document.
4. After reaching certain print counting, the ink level will show "low ink"

So my answer is even if you refilled your cartridge, the ink level won't change,
since printer cannot weight the cartridge or.....some other technology to measure each color ink level.

i think the inside printer have dirt or obstacles that blocken the cartridges while printing.
try to clean manually the printer by using powerful air blower,repeatedly.
