Hi i m new at slr camera , i buy canon 500d , and when i take a shot , flash light twice or more before take the shot then flash be busy then take shot with flash did it a problem or what/

Check to see if you have the flash set on "red-eye". This causes the flash to pre-flash to eliminate red-eye in your photos. It's a real pain for most photos but if you're shooting in low light, it will eliminate the red-eye.

How to remove red eye / eyes in pictures using Windows 7 built in tools

You don't need specialized programs or photo editing software to fix a red eye in Windows 7. You will only need to have MS Office 2003 or later installed or download a small free program called Red Eye Remover.

Go to the picture from which you want to remove the red eyes. Then , right click on the image and from the open with menu , select Microsoft Picture Manager.

This will open the program and load your picture to it.
Now select the edit picture button.

This will bring up a toolbar at the left of the window with the photo editing tools.

1) On the bottom of the toolbar , zoom using the slider so that you can clearly see the eyes you want to edit.
2) Then , on the right hand toolbar , select the Red Eye Removal Tool.

Now click on the eyes you want the red removed from. A little red eye should appear after clicking.

After selecting all eyes , click the okay button. This will fix the eyes selected.

After the eyes are fixed , just click on the save button or select save from the file menu.

Download and install Red Eye Remover by clicking HERE.
Now , drag your picture into the program.

Now , use you mouse wheel to zoom in and center you screen so that you can see the eyes you want to edit.

Now , simply click and drag a rectangle around the eye and release. The program will automatically detect the red eye and remove the red out of it.

When done, simply click file, save as and either replace the original photo or save it as a new copy.

Red eye on sanyo digital camera xacti, always theres a red eye when taking pictures,i already adjusted everything, still occuring red eye.

Do you mean your subject's eyes are showing "redeye"? This is a common problem with cameras that have the flash very close to the lens. Almost every photo editing program has a tool to remove red-eye. Check your computer to see what you have installed. In the future, most cameras have a red-eye flash setting which shoots a short flash before the main flash to close down the pupils in your subjects eyes to eliminate red-eye. You could also turn up the lights in the room...sometimes that helps.

Flash shuts two time and people close eyes

Change your flash mode from slow synchro to something else, sometimes the redeye mode does this to eliminate red eye by dialating the eyes on the first flash and capturing on the second. Check this link, go to page 48-49 and learn about the different flash settings of your camera.

I get eyes that glow white in my pictures

bubba41, You didn't mention using the built-in pop-up flash that's when you get the "red-eye" and you can set the flash for redeye reduction when it's used.  If you are taking an indoor photo without the flash, if the redeye reduction is on turn it off that would eliminate the zombie or X-men eyes you are describing. randy320sgi

Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital Elph

there are some settings that can help with this (check out red eye and flash settings). The best solution I have found is to press the button down half way. The view finder will try to frame the picture, and then press the button all the way down. This 1) Eliminates Red Eye 2) Increases picture speed 3) allows for the "perfect" moment because you can leave it at half pressed for as long as you like, and 4) Allows you to take rapid fire pictures if you don't depress all the way.

Hope that helps

Red Eye

There's two ways to reduce/eliminate the red-eye with your A570IS cameras. The first is at the time of exposure, by ensuring the red-eye reduction function is activated via the shooting menu (see page 28 of the manual). In shooting mode, press "menu", highlight the "tools" icon, and go down to "red-eye on/off". Toggle over to "on". That should take care of red-eye, in some, but not all cases. You can also remove red-eye after the image has been recorded (page 69 of the manual). You can isolate the red eyes if the camera doesn't automatically them for you. This should give you two shots at eliminating red-eyes. Another, often overlooked way to reduce red-eye is to zoom out and move physically closer to the subject, rather than relying on the zoom lens to get you close when shooting with flash. Hope this helps.

Red eye reduction

while in record mode, press the flash/up button repeatedly until you are in red-eye reduction mode. red-eye reduction mode should greatly reduce the problem when enabled. If this does not work, the software that came with your camera (and most photo editing applications) include a red eye reduction/removal filter.

hope this helps,

Red-Eye Fix

Here is a link to the product manual: It states that to turn on red-eye reduction mode (p.43), go to the Camera menu, then set the top setting (red-eye) to "on". Even if you are unable to get this to work (or if you do get it to work, but are unhappy with the results), there is a really nice free proto organizer ( that includes a red-eye removal tool that is really simple to use.

Animal Eyes

I've seen some of those white eyes photos. Some are down right scary. I'm sure you have encountered red-eye when taking flash photos of people. With some animals, it is not red - but white. .... Try to catch the animal looking away from the camera when you take that flash picture. Have someone distract him/her. ............ Fixing Demonic Pet Eyes
