Kirkland Dryer - light turns on, but the machine won't run. It was making a weird noise. The filter is clean, but perhaps some paper got caught? Did the motor burn out or did we break the belt?

There are a few possible causes for a Kirkland dryer to have a light that turns on but the machine won't run:
  1. Broken Belt: If the drum inside the dryer does not rotate when you turn it on, it could be a broken belt. A broken belt will prevent the drum from spinning and the motor from operating.
  2. Blown Fuse or Tripped Circuit Breaker: The dryer might not run if it has a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker. Check your electrical panel for tripped breakers or blown fuses.
  3. Faulty Motor: If the dryer motor has burnt out, the dryer will not be able to run. You may have noticed a burning smell or an unusual noise before the motor failed.
  4. Clogged or Blocked Vent: If the vent or exhaust hose is clogged or blocked, the dryer may overheat and shut down. This can also cause unusual noises.
  5. Defective Door Switch: If the door switch is defective, the dryer may not start, even though the light comes on.
To diagnose the problem, you may need to disassemble the dryer and inspect the belt, motor, and other components. If you're not comfortable doing this, it may be best to call a professional technician to troubleshoot and repair the dryer.

As soon as i plug it in the circuit breaker trips.

You have a short. It is either short to ground or short circuiting. Check the cord very carefully for breaks. Make sure the ground plug is in tacked. Also try a different outlet to make sure the problem is the tool.

Bosch SRS53C02GB/27 tripped circuit fuse, Changed plug fuse still no sign of life

Has the circuit breaker / fuse in the meter box tripped or blown as well? If the machine tripped or blew a fuse, it is common for the heater element to be the cause or you have a water leak internally and its shorted something.

Holmes hch6150 will not produce heat

Without having the heater to tear apart to see what is not working, you may try the following. Your heater is a 1500 watt heater and pulls about 13 amps of current. If you plug it into a recepticle that is already have load turned on, most recepticle circuits are rated for 15 amps and you have probably tripped the breaker for this circuit. Check your breaker panel to see if a breaker is tripped. If it has tripped, this will tell you your pulling to much current. Try another circuit that allows the heater to operate or find the other load on the circuit that is causing the breaker to trip. By the way to reset the breaker take the breaker to full off, this resets the trip, and then turn it back to on.
Hope this helps

No power to the display, dryer will not turn on

First thing you need to do is check the Circuit Breaker for the dryer. If it is tripped unplug the dryer and reset the Circuit Breaker. Now plug in the dryer and try to run it. If it does not work again check the Circuit Breaker again if it is tripped again unplug dryer and call someone that can help you or fix it. If the Circuit Breaker is not tripped check for good power readings on both power lines coming into the dryer. Should have 110V or more on each line to neutral, and 220V or more between each line. If you do not have the correct voltage at each line check Circuit Breaker for good power coming out.

I was sewing this afternoon, it was fine. This evening I tried to turn on my machine, but it wouldn't turn on. It's three years old, made in Japan/

First, the obvious-make sure the machine is plugged in well, and you don't have a tripped circuit breaker. Then, check where the cord plugs into the machine. Check the cord for breaks. If you have a stitch regulator, be certain to turn it on before trying to turn on the machine. Recheck all connections. Check all the connections on the sensor wheels of the regulator-poor contact will break the signal between the regulator and the machine. If it still won't turn on, maybe the Quilting Fairie is telling you to leave it alone for a day or so, and go back to it. Good luck! :)

Can you blow the braker box on 1992 softail...

You don't have a "breaker box" on your Softail. You do have a main breaker that is rated at 30 amps. Then you have three or four more that are usually rated between 10 and 15 amps. A circuit breaker is a thermo-electrical device. If more current flows through the device than it is rated to handle, it will heat a bi-metal strip that will cause the breaker to "break". Once it "breaks", the current flow stops, the strip cools off, and the breaker resets. If the ignition switch is still on and the current draw still exceeds the breaker's rating, it will trip again. It will continue to do this until the switch is turned off or the reason for the excessive current draw remedied. If the breaker is tripped too many times, it will quit working. It is designed to protect a circuit and continously break and reset like a turn signal flasher.

Good Luck

Dyer not turning at all

Is the dryer getting power? Check to make sure that the circuit breaker hasn't tripped of been turned off. If the breaker has tripped, you may have a short circuit in the dryer unit and you should have the unit check by a qualified technician.
