Question about Kenmore 52632 / 52634 / 52639 Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

Ice maker I switched out the ice maker with an older one that I had from the beer fridge in the garage, that one was working, I know that cause when I turn it on it would make noise even though it wasn't hooked up to the water. Once I installed it in the kitchen fridge it doesn't do anything. If its not the ice maker, and not the water inlet, what else is left short of calling a repairman.

The ice maker doesn't work, doesn't cycle, doesn't do anything. The one I switched it out with was the exact same, and the wiring harness was the same, so at the minimum I thought I would get it cycle. At this point I'm trying to eliminate whats not the problem.

Ice maker not working, and water at door not dispensing. Refrigerator was turned off for 1 day and clearned to determine if frozen. Water is coming into fridge, tested okay. Fridge is used in garage. ...

The water solenoid valve might have gone bad. Also bear in mind that the ice maker has a spdt switch that send power to its water valve for just enough time to fill the ice tray. If the switch fails, the ice maker will stop working. The water dispensing solenoid valve also is controlled by switch, and if that switch goes bad, water dispensing will not take place. If you could test and confirm that those switches are OK, that would be a clue to the solving the puzzle. However, the water solenoid valves are still questionable; check them first. The ice maker spdt switch can be tested, but you need to be an experienced troubleshooter. If you feel good at troubleshooting; go for it, but remember that replacing those questionable parts may be one of the options to repair the problem(s).

Rs2556sh model leakes water under fridge when ice maker cycles

If there was water in the water line it could have split. Check on the back where the water line goes from the inlet valve to the ice maker.

Kitchenaid fridge (ksrw25crss02)icemaker slowly stopped working, decreasing in the amount of ice it made until finally no ice at all. also, water trickles from water dispencer.

hi kev215,
welcome to

Huuum at your service.

You said, the ice maker slowly stopped working, decreasing in the amount of ice it made until finally no ice at all. also, water trickles from water dispenser.

The first thing I would ask is when did you last change your water filter in the fridge?
Or if it's an older fridge with an inline filter behind the fridge!
check the shut off valve for the water line that leads to you ice maker. under the sink or in the basement or where ever the line comes from. I've seen where someone turned the valve a little clockwise unbeknown to the home owner and stopped or slowed the water flow.

The water line should be checked too, for any kinking that may be running behind the fridge or some unseen place!

How old is the fridge??

Let me know,
Thank you Huuum

Kenmore ice maker

If the ice ejector (the plastic part) is pointed down and not pointed between 10 and 3 o' clock the ice maker motor has failed or somethin is binding. Replacing the ice maker is probably the best bet.
