Don't use Windows media player, Try a different one, like POWER DVD or WINDVD I have found playback on these to be better than WMP

My windows media player 11 don't have any video when i play any dvd movies.

Your system must be having media codec issues, please download and install this. click here. After the installation is completed, restart your computer and play any media with the windows media player or you can also play media with a play included with the software (media player classic).

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

When I play a movie the picture and sound gets "choppy" even with NEW dvds

You can try using another media player. If that does'nt work ,your DVD drive may be bad or need cleaning.Sometimes a bad ram chip can cause the video to mess up.Try playing a movie directly from your HDD downloaded from a website and see if its choppy if its not then its your DVD drive. If it is still choppy it could be the media player your using or it does'nt have enough ram memory/virtual memory. If you have XP change your virtual memory settings and the refresh rate in task manager.(Bring up task manager,go to view tab then update speed to HIGH).

Play dvd nothing - play s/d card (video) sound but no picture.

You need to update the dvd softwear. Check the default settings for playback of media,if it is set to windows media it won't work if you hav'nt installed the correct updates. Choose the Toshiba dvd player as the default player and it should work. If you prefer windows media then you can get the updated codecs from ' ' Easier still, try uninstalling your windows media player and installing windows media 11, this will usually resolve the problem.

First shut down any othe apps that are runnig. Even disable norton AV if it is running while watching a move. Second do a disk clean up from the system tools menu, third make sure windows is controlling virtual memory. Finally get a DVD playe like Power DVD. It is much better at playing DVD's than media player that can be a real pig.
