I filed this enquiry last week and paid the bucks for Premium Assistance but have heard nothing so far.
Should this Sony MD work with an intel IMac - We use Hi-MD Music Transfer but it shows the message 'not detected.'
We have tried different connection cords but the problem remains.

Re: Media/Device not detected
The trouble is unless the experts are constantly over 75% succesfull with posting answers, not all of us can try to answer the premium questions, but anyway, as i always say if you know the hardware you are connecting is not faulty and the lead is ok, then the power supplied to the usb port is inadequate to power the peripheral connected, so after obviously trying other ports and still no luck the only other thing left to try is a mains powered usb hub, as there is more volts powered to the ports than a motherboard can produce.

Plug the USB data cable into the and connect the opposite end into one of the USB ports on your computer. The computer states it has detected a new device.
Launch the Sony Media Manager program (either double-click the desktop icon or select "Start," "All Programs" and finally "Sony Media Manager"). The program automatically detects the device.
Select the "Videos" tab, and then click-and-drag a video file into the open window from your computer. The video file location on the computer may vary, depending on where you saved the content to.
Wait for the video files to upload to the (the video files automatically begin uploading to the device once you drag the file into the open program window). Do not disconnect the device from the computer while the upload is being performed. If you do, you may corrupt the device. Once the upload has finished, you may close out the program and disconnect the MP3 player from your computer.
1.If it is detected as Walkman but not showing as a removable drive then
a.Goto device manager and right click on Sony Walkman and select update driver b.Choose the advanced option and then select i will choose the driver to install. c.In the window that appears, select mass storage device rather than MTP device.
2.If it is not detected at all,you need to download the firmware from here:
http://support.sony-europe.com/dna/downloads/firmware/firmware.aspx?site=odw_en_GB&m=NWZ-B135&f=FRM_NWZ_B13x_f After downloading, run it and then connect the player to system while holding the "volume -" button...it should be detected and the firmware would be restored.
I just do it to kill time. I have an elderly mother. Ibelong to several other sites http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?referredby=858 http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/ http://applianceguru.com/ They say I have made 6 bucks so far. I have probably saved the people in this forum thousands in repair bills. I only began about a week ago. I enjoy it. I suspect if you think each answer will pay 6 bucks you are wrong. They only pay on premium answers.
I had the same problem. One day my Mp3 started acting weird and said it was not recognizing the files and that i needed to re download them. Try plugging it up to your computer while its charging and hit the power off. Then reset your mp3 with the button at the bottom and it should recognize it.
