My 10 year old kitchenaid dryer

I'm sorry about coming in here with an old machine problem. My dryer is about 10 years old and does not produce any lint in the filter. Can you suggest anything?

Re: my 10 year old kitchenaid dryer

If its not producing lint then more than likely that it has a hole in a inner pipe and the lint is going inside your drum take the back off with the machine un-plugged and check if lint is inside then clear it out has this can set afire then find were it is coming from u can do this 2ways look for the hole or plug back in and start it if u will notice were it is coming from within a few minutes

Dryer will not produce heat during drying cycle. The dryer will not dry clothes as a result of no heat. The air is cold when the dryer is running.

If this is a gas dryer, the problem is probably the ignition panel. Generally, with a gas dryer, there is an ignition device that heats to a specific temperature and this causes the gas to ignite. When this electric ignition fails to work, the gas will not ignite and there will be no heat. I had this happen and had to call a professional. It was a simple matter of installing a new ignition device and it worked perfectly for years. I hope this helps! If it is a new dryer, check to see if this part might be covered under warranty. It starts and heats up after 20 minutes cuts off and makes sound like it wants to start. then shuts off completely and starts back in about an hour for 20 minutes and cuts off.

You have a bad motor there is a safety feature built into the motor to where when it gets hot it will shut off so it wont start a fire. After the motor cools off in the time frame you listed it will come back on but repeat the same thing all you can do is have the motor replaced by a qualified service technician or buy a quality used machine or a new one if the dryer is 10 to 15 years old not worth putting a motor in it will run $125 to $150 for just a new motor but sorry for the troubles.

Dryer suddenly does not produce hot air

have the exact same problem, just over 1 year old no heat! first off my duct work under my floor is like a snake and is not a straight shot out of the house. I beleive this caused a ristriction in the venting because dyer seemed to be running hotter them normal. I took the top off the dryer and pulled the vent tube out of the bottom of the dryer. To my surprise found a three inch layer of lint on the bottom of the machine and also on the heating coil. After cleaning out all the lint i took a volt meter to the two wires that come down to the heater. started the dryer and found i had 220volts at the heater indicating the heater is out, found one on ebay for about 50 bucks. will be installing this weekend and will let you know how it works.

Trying to locate heating element on kitchen aid dryer

Do you have the part number, is so Put in (Find kitchen aid dryer Part# 111111* ) Or( Find kitchen aid dryer heating element* ). If this is a old dryer some parts are not made anymore. Any Dryer over 7 years old is no longer energy efficient. Hope This Helps.

KitchenAid Dryer Timer stopped working - won't stop drying

Timers cannot be repaired. The mechanism is a spring - once it weakens, or fails - a new timer is required.

It is $83.72 USD.

Here is a Buy-it-Now eBay auction for $34.99USD & Free shipping!!

Your part number for the timer is 3976570a

A used part would have to come from an appliance store that salvaged from an abandoned washer.... and it may fail shortly anyway.
The new timer will have a warranty, and give you 10 more years of service.
Well worth it.
