My Saeco Primea Touch Plus is leaking from underneath the water tank. If I remove the water tank and sit it on the bench it doesn't leak but when I put it in the machine it leaks a little until I make a coffee then it leaks a lot. During descaling it leaks a phenominal amount of water, probably a third of the water in the tank ends up seeping out between the bottom of the water tank and the machine all over the bench. The valve in the bottom of the machine where the water tank nozzle fits into is very loose and you can move it around, is this normal or is this possible the reason the tank leaks?
I rang Saeco service centre about my leaking water tank and they posted me a new tank - no questions or need to return the faulty item. I believe there may be a bad batch of tanks which leak because of faulty valves.
There is an o-ring usually under the tank.
When you remove the tank, the hole where the water drops into machine there might be 3 screws around it. In that area is an o-ring which prevents the water from spilling over the machine when the tank is in place.
the o-rubber ring(you mean rubber gusket?)is there
The piece below the tank that seals it to the machine is a grommet, which sits under the gray O ring cover. Lift the cover off by prying up gently with a butter knife until the tabs release. Replace the Grommet with the flat side up and the split side down. Snap the cover back in place.

I don't believe the leak is coming from the tank itself, I think it is leaking out of the coffee machine itself.
I think the water is actually leaking back out of the bottom valve in the machine. The tank itself seems to be fine.
I don't think it is the water tank that's leaking, it seems to be leaking back out of the valve in the bottom of the machine?
I have the same problem. I took the water tank out and put it in a bowl overnight and there was a lot of water in the bowl by next morning. Inspection of the valve in the bottom of the tank revealed that water was escaping there. I have not dismantled it - as it is under warranty - but I believe it may be one of three possible problems:
(1) the spring is not strong enough to seal the valve properly. This could be a problem with variability of the springs from supplier. A possible solution may be to extend the spring to get more tension or better still replace with a proper spring from Saeco.
(2) the plastic valve surface is not smooth and thereefore not allowing a proper seal
(3) If there is a gasket seal involved - it is either not there or needs replacing. I cannot see or read about a gasket seal in the instruction booklet.
