Playlist Unit will see a playlist but comes up with N/A playlist when I select it..I think the address is wrong but I don't know how to write it so the Head Unit will recognize it. Can anyone show me what a m3u file looks like that will run in this unit. This is on a USB device... Sample M3U file... #EXTM3U #EXTINF:0,K:\JJ Cale\J.J. Cale - A Thing Going On K:\JJ Cale\J.J. Re: Playlist

You need to remove the text K:\ The playlist was created on your computer when the music was on drive K There should be a setting in the program that created the playlist to stop this happening. #EXTM3U #EXTINF:139,Gnarls Barkley - Go Go Gadget Gospel 01-Gnarls_Barkley-Go_Go_Gadget_Gospel.Mp3 #EXTINF:178,Gnarls Barkley - Crazy 02-Gnarls_Barkley-Crazy.Mp3

Alpine - 50W x 4 In-Dash CD Deck Model: CDE-100 | SKU: 9438076 how do i opperate an ipod on it? do i have to create a playlist or something?

You have to run it through the aux input, the usb port will not play an ipod through it as it doesn't have the ipod 2.0 software on it, you can get a ipod connector that plugs into the back of the head unit, and then plugs into your ipod and you can control it from that as well as charge it, but other than that you have to use the aux input. The only thing you can play through the usb port is music on a thumb drive.

I know it means "electrical or mechanical problem" according to the manual. You probably are not able to read or even eject a CD. There is no solution offerred, so you will have to get professional help.

I will suggest first contacting Pioneer at, email or call tech support. Read the online user manual also if you don't have one. They might refer you to a local repair shop, and you can always try to get help from whoever installs the unit for you or you have bought it from.

Sorry that I won't have further knowledge on this. My instinct will be to disconnect the power completely and see if it resets.

Please don't forget to rate or accept the solution

When I scroll through my ipod on the head unit, the scrolling freezes at a certain point everytime, then I get an error 01 message. The ipod seems to work fine, but the head unit freezes, then doesn't read...

When was the last time you updated your iPod's software? Also watch out how you break your playlist down, because Alpines will hang up at around 230 or so... I also have seen bad cords but that isn't you. Have you tried resetting the deck?? To do that take the face plate off and you will see a little hole that is red like a freckle. Get a pen and try resetting it and see what happens, that should do it. sometimes though iPods are the problems. Get a buddy's and try theirs and see if theirs hangs up?? I keep 3 80gig classics in my shop for to test the head units... Mark @ Sounds Good to Me Tempe, AZ

Is there a way to skip through the letters of the alphabet when searching for a song when connected to an ipod?

What I did was to use the Genre setting on each artist to agroup, such as A-E, F-H, etc., and then do a Genre search. That way you only have to search through a smaller group of letters.

Ipod interface

The adapter was never made to work exactly like the Ipod. Thanks to Apple they have made it very difficult for many makers to recreate the way the stereo searches song to be like the Ipod. Use the scan button to change the way it seeks through songs. You can have it seek by Artist, Album, Genre and Playlist and this is changed each time the scan button is pressed.

Alpine CDA-9856. Search button for IPod will not bring up menu

I have the same problem with a CDE-9870R and my iPod. I tried my daughter's iPod, and it works. I did not search any further, but it may come from the iPod software version. Mine is more up-to-date than hers (5th generation iPod 1.1.2 2006-06-28 update).
