Question about Sony CDX-GT210 CD Player
Hi, and thanx a lot for this helpful site. I installed this cd player CDX-GT210 in my car and costed me around $180. Later, I was so disappointed coz I found out it can't be connected to amplifier because: 1- It has no RCA outputs 2- It has no "blue" slot to connect to the remote of amplifier Is there any way I can connect it to an amplifier ? Thanks
Thank you fellas! Now I got the speaker to rca device. Can I just use the cigarette lighter socket as a power source for the 12v? I bought an extention for the socket from walmart. The back of the amp has 3 inlets: 12v - Ground -Remote, which goes where? I am just scared of doing direct wiring to the battery. Thanks again :-)

There is commonly available a small device that will convert a small portion of the speaker level signal to an RCA level signal without having to open up your unit (I would not recomend that you open up your unit and start rewiring anything inside). Any place that installs car amps should be able to sell you such a device or try your local radio shack. It only costs about $10 or so and it will do just fine without loading down your speaker level outputs. As for the "trigger" switch, the simplest way is just like Benimur said, just attach a small switch that will supply +12 volts to the trigger wire when you want the amp to turn on. Good luck.

Hi, Your post "Is there any way I can connect it to an amplifier?" yes, but that would require that you open your unit and attach a pair of shielded wire to the inputs of the built-in amplifier. Left, right and 2 X ground. The other end of the shielded wire can be terminated with a pair of RCA females. The "blue" slot can be replaced by a manually operated remote on/off switch. This however will void your warranty, probably it might be to your advantage to return the unit for a replacement model that has line outs. Good luck and kind regards. Post back should you need further information.

try connecting the red and yellow together, and to a 12 volt source. that should deffinately get power to the head unit.
check the fuse under the big connector on the back.
