Power comes on, then quickly off...

When I turn on the set the green light comes on, then quickly turns red. I doubt this is a fuse issue -- However, I need help! Is it worth repairing, or is it time to get a new set?

I have the same problem, as soon as I turn it on, I get the green light for 2 seconds then the red light and that's it. I checked the fuses and they look fine, please help before I throw this thing out the window!

It fixed the problem for $5. I did not have to spend $300 like some websites were saying. Thanks a lot!!

I have a call in with Pioneer for help. Some additional info. Parts can be found at parts.pioneerelectronics.com . The fuse that is blowing is identified on the PCB as FU303. The part number for the Power Assembly is AWV1887 (OLD model) or AWV2011 (New Model). Depending on what Pioneer says, I'll probably replace the Power module; $311.

I have this exact same issue; search engine took me here. I have been experiencing this problem for about a year now. When you power on, the RED standby light goes out, the power light turned GREEN, you might hear a small pop sound, then the RED standby light goes back on. YOU HAVE BLOWN A FUSE. My problem is this is occuring much more frequently now and I'm going through fused like crazy. So I'm looking for a long term solution. To replace the fuse, turn off the standby power switch on the front. Unplug the power cable. Open the back panel. All logic and power modules are on the bottom of the cabinet. Therer is a large power module in the middle. In the middle of this module are 3 fuses. The one that typically blows is the one in the middle. It's a 5 amp fuse, but double check the rating before replacing. Good luck, Mark

GOOD question and well asked----Start at the beginning.

if light on main fuse is good---do you hear the power relay click on and off?

These sets for trouble shooting use a number of green and one red LED inside on the board--the red one should be on when power is connected and the others at turn on all should light--if do this with back off look for the Green ones---when set turned on do all light and then go out--look for one that goes out first or last---each is connected to a specific voltage coming out of the power supply---they will lead you to the area where the trouble is---this set is old enough you may be able to find a service manual online.

I have fixed a lot--going to need a volt/ohm meter for any real tests.

I am ready to help if you need it.

Tv won't turn on. red power light is out

red light is on, but when the tv is turned on, it immediately shut down and goes back to the red light setting. It is like it blows a fuse or something to that effect.Post Solution

My playstation has the light trun green yellow flashing red light

With your PS3 turned off, press and hold the Power button on the front of the PS3 for about 10 seconds (the system will beep as normal as it starts up but after 7-10 seconds it will beep again). The video settings should now be reverted. Doing this will also reset any theme settings. try this? seems to fix alot of issues.

I have Sony TV model KDF-42WE655 which stopped working. No display and when powered on, the green light comes on and blinks approx 50 times and turn red (blinking red). How and what do I need to buy to fix...

Its not the green light that you should be count but the red. How many times is it blinking? Here is a quick update of the errors that are most common.

3x - Lamp switch not engaged
4x - Fans issue
5x - Lamp
6x - Thermal fuse

My tv won't turn on.

You probably have bad connections on the flyback transformer. With the back off of the set, on the left side, you wlii see a transformer with a big red wire coming out of it, The connections under that transformer are bad. Be sure the set is unplugged when doing this!
