Re: green spot

The light polarizer on one of the lcd panels is fried. bad news: you'll have to replace the entire optical engine. worse news: infocus no longer sells them. sorry.

Boxlight sp-6T just died after turning it off. No lights, dead!

wwell, my opinion would be to first change the bulb and see. If that resolves the issue, then then is no other component failure. If that does not resolve the issue, please post back after replacing the bulb and we will troubleshoot further..

HI. I have boxlight xd-9m. Picture was fine, then a blue flash of light from the unit. Now both dead. Replaced bulb, but still no green power indicator comes on. Ideas? Thanks

the power supply has blown. unfortunately, there are no parts available for this model, so check the power supply board for scorch marks or blown parts and replace as necessary.

Lots of details: LP120 stays on for a minute, then powers off

either the colorwheel motor is not getting up to speed to sync with the dmd chip, the wheel sensor is going, or the power supply needs replacing. you can try to replace them yourself or send it to an infocus authorized service center. try . they're pretty good.

Bluish image appearing on screens

It sounds like the projection lamp is beginning to show its age. How many hours of use does the unit have on the bulb? The bulb are typically rated for about 800-1600 hours of use before they go bad. The bluish image on the screen image is a typical tell-tale sign that the bulb is going to need replacing.

Most of your better projection units will have an internal time counter of the bulb life from the time the unit is first used or when a bulb is replaced. Check to see if your unit has this feature, if so it will show you on the screen display what is the total number of hours on the bulb and the estimated remaining hours of life.

Be aware that the replacement bulbs are NOT cheap and usually will cost you several hundred dollars, I have seen bulbs for professional projection units used for large convention/presentations have bulbs costing as much as $500.00 USD.

One other last thing to check is to clean the lens of the unit both inside and outside. To clean the inside, you will need to remove the bulb (be sure to wear a rubber glove as the oils from your skin will cause the lamp to blow, (causes a hot spot)). Then using a cleaning wipe, just as one used for cleaning microscopes or glasses, wipe the lenses. The discoloration might also being caused by dirt and oils on the lenses.

I hope this shed some light on your church's projection problem.

Boxlight CD-725C TEMP light comes on and unit shuts down afer 10 minutes. Unit has about 1200 hours on the bulb. Seconds before the unit stops, at least one of the fans slows down.

The reason why the temp comes on because the fan is start slow down, so the bulb produce a lot of heat. Once the maximum temp reach, the temperature sensor will become inactive. So boxlight shutdown. First you need to replace the fan, or check the supply dc voltage going to fan if it is stable.

Yellow in center of picture

The blue device is dying allowing green to shine thru instead of white. Very common problem called color decay. Happens on average about evey3-4000 hours. I suggest next purchase a dlp product, they are immune to this problem. Good luck

Boxlight cd-850m won't turn on

You must reset the lamp timer after you replace the lamp before the unit will turn on. Do this:
Power on the unit. On the projector's keypad, hold down the the two volume keys simultaneously for 10 seconds. At that point the LED will turn green. Now you can turn on the unit again and it should work.
