Dryer keeps stopping

My drier stopped working today, but could not find any instructions for it in our rented house, so I cleaned everything in sight including the condenser filter, which I washed in the shower. Seemed to do the job for a few minutes, but when I returned after a 40 min cycle the clothes were not much drier and there didn't seem to be any more water in the tank. Reset the start button and then it refused to go at all. Watched a you-tube video about how to do it. Went back and wiped all the seals but still no dice. Has the condenser gone? Is there another place to clean? There does seem to be another panel to the right of the condenser filter. Does this open?

Hi,
You state you had a short in the home. Since the washer is on 110V system, you can try a different outlet and see if the machine works. Although you state that it isn't on the same part of the panel as the washer/dryer, and the dryer works, the dryer is on a different breaker, and it may indeed have had some effect on the panel that hooks to the washer. Try my first option, and let me know how you make out. I believe you'll find that to be the trouble

The timer on your dryer is more than likely bad. You already know what the timer is and where located. Not really that high priced thru ebay or an appliance repair outlet. Usually just a screwdriver and a small socket is all you need to change. Great sense of accomplishment when you finish and it works while saving a lot of $$$$. Stan

I'm using a Bosch Axxis dryer for the first time. The dryer seems to run for a minute, cut out for a minute, run again, cut out again etc. Is this normal? I'm renting this place for a month and there are...

Hi,

Werlcome to FixYa.

That is indeed perfectly normal. It is actually changing direction each time it stops and starts. That`s how those particular Bosch operate.

On another note, if you operate the unit on the "auto dry" cycles without enough items or extremely light weight materials in it, the dryer will stop since it cannot "sense" the garments.

Otherwise it`s all good !

Good luck.
