I hava a spa/jacuzzi i wired it up the way is supposed to go i just have a question i have a dryer with a 30 amp breaker the dryers is hardly ever used so what i did because i dont have any space on electrical panel i pick taled the 2 hot wires from the same breaker to jacuzzi i dont know if thats a problem the only thing i do is when i use the dryer i turn off the jacuzzi from the gfci box it has a 30 amp breaker in there too and when i use the jacuzzi i dont use the dryer i always use one at a time
so can some one tell me if i did some thing bad i would greatly appreciate it thank you
What is the required wire size from the main panel to the hot tub disconnect
You jacuzzi is 20 amps alone at 115VAC, If youjzcuzzi is220VAC, the amps are 31,the dryer uses the same, if not more amps depending on make and model. You should consider putting each on a seperate breaker.
Breaker, even GFI's are designed to trip at 135% to 600% over there load rate, so not to scare you but it depends more on the wire used from the main panel to the dryer/hot tube then the breaker. A GFI's claim to fame is the speed at which it will trip if voltage is detected on the ground side of the breaker. So to answer a question with a question, Can you overload a GFI without tripping it, Yes you can, just be careful the life of your hot tube motor and heater could be in danger if you overload the circuit.
